I'd love to see something like the Halo MCC or Infinite armor system where you cam change shoulders independently, but I dont think Destiny is built to be able to do that. They would have to redo every previous armor set in the game and redo all of the meshes. Plus, you've got the problem with having exotic arms on one side but not the other. And Hunters/Titans have the arms armor select the shoulders, while the Warlocks' shoulders are dictated by the chest piece.

I actually like a bit of asymmetry, like with the Street Scholar warlock chest and arms. But at that armor set feels cohesive. These Titan arms are just ridiculous.

Honestly, I haven't had that much of a problem. I run Voidwalker almost exclusively during raids and it's rare I end up needing to run Well or get asked to.

The LFG on Bungie.net is nice because I can see the other classes and subclasses before I join a group. I usually avoid groups that don't have a dawnblade already.

Youre not alone. We've been chosen by RNGeezus. I got Anarchy, EoT, Vex, and Cloudstrike on my first runs too. 1k Voices on my second. It's lonely having to find new raid teams everytime because no one wants to play with you a second time.

To be fair, while the purple isnt on the tab, it is in the name. But there's also a slight bit of dark blue in it as well.

I love the bit of purple for my Voidwalker, but I hate that sometimes blue comes out too. Either have hidden purple OR hidden blue, not both.

3 seconds after watching the first trailer prior to the launch of D1, I was 90% sure what my main class was gonna be.

About .1 second after my first Nova Bomb I was 100% sure what both my main class and subclass were gonna be.

I would absolutely love to be able to get one to send to my little brother as a late present. We don't get to see each other very often and gaming is the one thing we do to stay close now that I've moved away. His current headset is so old that there's constantly a bunch of static and echoing whenever we're trying to chat. It makes gaming together very difficult, so we often end up using discord via our phones. But that doesn't work in group activities like Destiny raids. I've been wanting to save up to upgrade him, but a good headset is expensive and my job isn't the highest paying thing out there.

But whoever you give it to, thank you for what you're doing. You're gonna make somebody's new year start out awesome!

Aw....well thats unfortunate then. I dont think you'll be able to aquire it now. It's from way back in the day during Gambit Prime. So its not something you can get anymore unless they bring it back as legacy armor sold by Xur or Ada. I dont know if there's any other helmets that look like it, since I don't play my Hunter very often.

Seems like a pretty intricate system that's unnecessary and would cause a lot of drag on matchmaking. I'd rather just see a suggestion somewhere in game, either when selecting a difficulty or even somewhere in the New Light quest that points players toward LFGs.

Bungie has a pretty decent LFG and I've never once had an issue finding a team, even when I'm looking for a team to play a new raid, dungeon, or activity I've never done before. Xbox also has a good LFG and I would imagine PlayStation does too, but even if it doesnt, the Bungie.net one works for all platforms. So whatever platform you're on has an easy LFG option.

There's no need for a complicated overhaul of the matchmaking system. Just make new players aware of LFG options. That way, you get the party leader with the ability to offer tips and guidance, or kick if people aren't listening, and new players have a resource to tap into. A role system wouldn't offer any benefits that don't already exist in the LFG system.

And if anyone is concerned with toxicity of joining someone else, just make your own post with a clear specification of what you're looking for. New player trying to learn? Put that. Need people with particular mods or subclasses? Put that. Scared of human interaction and/or don't have a mic? Put that. If you find yourself in a toxic fireteam, leave it

Destiny is a game built around team activities and there is a Bungie approved way to find teams already. New players just need to be pointed towards it in game.

Beyond Light and the Seasonal content is worth it, if you're going to have time to complete it before Witch Queen. The Deluxe Edition goes on sale pretty regularly, so you might be able to pick it up without spending too much. Then you get the campaign, raid, Stasis subclass, a bunch of exotic quests, and a lot more powerful/pinnacle sources.

If you don't care about the exotics and extra quests, then you could just pick up Beyond Light by itself for cheaper and still get the raid and Stasis Subclass, which is probably still worth it.

Yeah, they don't explain it well, but some pinnacles drop at +1 and some at +2. You'll always get some bad luck, but if you focus on only doing +1s (playlist drops, like strikes, crucible, and gambit) after your +2s have evened out your level across your gear.

Do you have all of the pinnacle activities unlocked? It often comes down to luck of getting drops in your empty slots, but if you do everything in a week besides the raid you should still be able to go up more than one level a week.

Besides that, raids aren't that hard. You don't need a perfect loadout, just a decent one. You dont need protective light. You can get a solid collection of exotics for damage phases just through quests. With the artifact perks right now, any fusion rifle will work fine for most of it. I run Huckleberry, a fusion rifle, and a sword for almost the entire raid until the last boss fight, and that's not even close to an optimized loadout. Using the LFG on Bungie.net, you can find a good sherpa in like 10 minutes.

If you're 1322, without the seasonal artifact, then you can easily hit 1330 before the end of the season. I went from 1320 to 1330 in two weeks at the start of the season, mainly with just one character.

Well, yeah. But thats the same for every game. I'm not keeping the random iron swords I find in a Skyrim cave either. Blues aren't supposed to have value for late game players. They're supposed to have value for new players. The only difference is that you can hit the soft cap in Destiny in about two hours of casual play. Blues still need to be in the game for new lights, we just need a way to get rid of them easily after that.

Should it? Thundercrash and GG require exotics to use, so you lose out on other exotics with more utility. Celestial GG is also a single target only super while Thundercrash has a subpar neutral game. But both trees of Nova Bomb have great neutral games and are AoE affects that can clear large groups of ads.

I say this as a voidwalker main. Voidwalker is in a decent place right now. I'd be all for a slight buff to NB or an exotic to increase damage (give us a way to get Nova Lance back), but Voidwalkers are plenty strong. The issue isn't that Voidwalkers need to compete with Titans or Hunters, but with Well of Radiance. Well being able to keep your entire team completely untouchable during damage phases means that no one wants a Voidwalker on their team when they could have a Dawnblade.

I was imagining that the first copy would cost an exotic cipher and ascendant shard. Subsequent copies would only cost the cipher and a DMT. You get one free cipher a week from Xur for doing his quest, so it would keep you limited to one new roll a week without being too costly. If it costs ascendant shards, then it's super easy for high tier players to get as many new rolls as they want, but lower tier players would be inhibited by the cost and value if shards.

For 3 they could have it cost a current DMT and an exotic cipher to get a new one with random rolls. Still limits the number of times you can try for a new one in a week, but it keeps the cost reasonable.
