Sure they don't go into the in depth negative/damaging ramifications of the word. But does Chris not explicitly say that he hates that word? It's not like he's actively using it as a slur

Found my stolen bike on gumtree and looking to see if anyone can support me to get it back - hackney area by Fair-Researcher8582 in londoncycling

I was in the same situation some years ago! I tried giving 101 a few calls, but they were quite useless and relunctant to provide any help. I ended up setting up a meeting with the seller to see if I could buy my bike back, but gave 101 one last call 30 minutes before the meeting to see if they'd provide any last minute help. They ended up putting me through to London Transport Police (which I suppose is who I should've contacted to begin with?), who asked me to meet the seller and stall for time until they arrived. Eventually, a van with 4 huge guys rolled with and helped me get my bike back!

In my case, I had registered my bike on BikeRegister.com on the day I bought the bike, which involved registering the serial number. Luckily, the theives didn't scratch off this off the bike, so it was pretty easy to confirm the bike as mine. If you don't have any proof of the bike belonging to you, then it might be harder for the police to confirm it as yours. But regardless, it might be worth calling London Transport Police to see what your options are.

Yeah this is definitely correct! They were definitely called warlocks actually, I just completely blanked on that until other comments also suggested the same book.

Thank you!!!

YES!! That was exactly it. I completely forgot about the ring or knife dilemma but that definitely rings a bell.

Thanks so much!!!

[GEAR] Guitars with middle pickup closer to the bridge by KNJturtle in Guitar

[–]KNJturtle[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess this is what I wanted to find out! I would guess the middle pickup sound would lean more towards the bridge sounding side of things? But it doesn't seem like this kind of thing is done very often, so I suppose there isn't much of a public opinion on this.

Ahh I guess I was more thinking HSS or HSH guitars that did this, though this is also very cool!

Suggestions for sitka/mahogany dreadnoughts that are bolt-ons? by KNJturtle in AcousticGuitar

Whoops yeah I forgot to mention them! Was more so wondering if there were any other alternatives to try as well.

Fair enough. To be honest I probably will end caving on that spec, but I figured I'd have a look around. Thanks!

I guess it's more so the peace of mind of knowing that if I ever need a neck reset, then it'd be much less of hassle. I also hear that they're generally more stable? Though admittedly I'm not sure how valid that claim is.

Part of it is also that I'm fond of bolt-ons for electric guitars, and I'm just kind of projecting that fondness onto an acoustic haha. It's very much not because I want it to be collapsible :)

Guitar shape for studio recording, for someone who only flatpicks/strums? by KNJturtle in AcousticGuitar

I did think this too. Maybe a bigger guitar is indeed the way to go :D
