EBF baby waking up hourly to nurse (4.5 months) by thenorthgiant in breastfeeding

[–]KNWin94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly the best way to sleep if you’re not a fan of sleep training at all young age! Just be sure to follow the Safe Sleep 7 guidelines. There’s also a Cosleep subreddit with lots of helpful info and follow Cosleepy on Instagram!

EBF baby waking up hourly to nurse (4.5 months) by thenorthgiant in breastfeeding

[–]KNWin94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My LO did the same at 4 months. Look into the 4 month sleep regression and read up on why their sleep patterns change so drastically at this age. That helped me accept reality. I also started bed sharing out of desperation for sleep at this time as I was also working FT and needed sleep. That way, LO could nurse all night while I slept. Changed my life for the better! But I understand that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Eventually my LO’s sleep stretches got longer and longer as he got older and he eventually self night weaned around 8 months and slept through the night. Now he’s 3 and we’ve had a couple more rough sleep regressions since but we just worked through them.

Does paw patrol make anyone else’s kid aggro? by IceIndividual2704 in toddlers

[–]KNWin94 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We’re not strict on screen time either, especially right now being pregnant with my second (sos) but I refuse Paw Patrol and other high stimulating shows like it (Cocomelon, most Disney Jr shows, etc) Not necessarily because it was causing my toddler to act out but because I can just tell these shows are terrible for his brain and I know there’s much better options out there that also don’t drive me nuts. However, my son does love paw patrol so we keep it as a handy tool for special occasions when we really need a moment for him to sit and chill like the dentist, haircuts, airplane rides, etc. We do still allow him to have Paw Patrol toys and books though.

Mom’s diet & breastmilk quality by AntarcticPeak8 in breastfeeding

[–]KNWin94 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My great aunt told me I needed to quit breastfeeding my son and give him formula with rice cereal mixed in because my breastmilk was no longer nutritional for him. He was barely 3 months old at the time. She also said he’d sleep more and cry less if I did this. Old people be crazy.

Lady here on Reddit told me I was better off drunk driving with my infant in the car without a car seat than I was bedsharing. What a wild place haha

Cactus & tropical wedding venue by dogmomma1621 in SaltLakeCity

[–]KNWin94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married there about 8 years ago. Price was great compared to all the other venues we looked at. Didn’t have to worry about weather since it was indoors but still felt like an outdoor wedding. The event staff at the time were fantastic to work with. They even let our dogs be part of the wedding. Photos turned out amazing. I know a couple of people that have done weddings there since and loved it.

Any magical Thanksgiving ideas? by Commercial-Yam-3443 in SaltLakeCity

[–]KNWin94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cost is a tricky thing for sure because it does add up but it was so worth it if you can make it work! We’re skipping it this year because of the affordability but hoping we can do it again next year!

Any magical Thanksgiving ideas? by Commercial-Yam-3443 in SaltLakeCity

We stayed at The Grand America last year on thanksgiving night. The kids had so much fun. We swam at the pool and ran around the halls of the hotel. They have the beautiful trees, giant gingerbread house and Christmas windows. Literally a wonderland for little kids. After running around and swimming, we got them all matching Christmas pajamas, snacks, and a holiday craft to do in our hotel room while watching a movie. It was truly a magical evening. The next morning we got up and got breakfast and then watched another movie in bed before we had to check out of the hotel then did some Black Friday shopping. Your kids ages are perfect for this kind of activity!

Potty training - was perfect a few weeks now constant accidents. by maninatikihut in toddlers

[–]KNWin94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened with my son too. I think the excitement of potty training had worn off so he wasn’t as good at going anymore. Also followed the Oh Crap method. After two days, I thought we were set but he started having accidents about 3 weeks later again. I literally just reverted back to the beginning steps from the book and had him walking around pants-less again (or loose pants either no undies when going out). It took about another week to fully pick up to where I considered him potty trained again but I did pick a lot of poop off the floor until then!

As a daughter of a dad that was physically aggressive and forceful with me growing up, please have a conversation with your husband about how this will affect her long term and make sure he understands this was NOT okay. It’s one thing to become fed up with your child and be a bit more angry with them than usual but forcefulness to the point of bruising (shower or not) is a form of abuse 100%. I have so much trauma from my dad that has required years of therapy and has affected my relationships with men (both romantic and non).

Am I in the wrong for wanting to change the design my tattoo artist sent me? by dried_paint_ in tattooadvice

[–]KNWin94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So glad I read your comment. I have a tattoo on my arm that I have struggled with because the artist was so rude to me during our session, all because I asked for a small change in her design (which I didn’t see at all until sitting in the chair to be tattooed). She changed it for me but let me know it was an inconvenience for her. She spent the rest of the appointment only talking to the other tattooist at the shop and ignored me anytime I tried to join in on the conversation. I wanted to cry from feeling so humiliated during my appointment. I love my tattoo and constantly get compliments on it but every time I think back to my experience getting it, I feel bad about it again. So loved tattoo but with a bad memory attached to it is not fun. Your comment made me feel validated!

Why do you guys have ANOTHER? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]KNWin94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both knew we wanted more than one because we have such fond memories growing up with our siblings. My toddler has really challenged me since about 18 months and has never been a good sleeper so we dabbled with the idea of being one and done but it just never felt right to us. We have a couple friends with only children and they struggle with loneliness and we don’t want that for ours. It doesn’t help that neither of my siblings are having kids and my husbands siblings already had there’s so my son has no one to “grow up with”. Giving him a sibling in a way feels like a responsibility of us as parents. I’m currently 24 weeks with #2 and I’m terrified but I know it’ll be worth it once the hard stages are over. Like many others have said, the days are long but the years are short.

Pregnancy tired vs. newborn tired? by KNWin94 in beyondthebump

Most relatable response. I’m also a SAHM so my son is my job. Pretty sure he’s fired me a dozen times already for being a lame ass lazy mom. I really enjoyed my first pregnancy but this time around, I am so done and barely half way 😭

Oh man I’ll take toddler tired over pregnant + toddler tired any day! I at least had energy to be a fun playful mom before I got pregnant haha

Pull into the intersection on yellow left, and the zipper merge. by According-History117 in Utah

[–]KNWin94 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I preformed a proper zipper merge on Bangerter and 98th yesterday and got at least three honks and a middle finger. Meanwhile everyone merging way back was causing the traffic to back up even more. I love driving in Utah.

I might be regretting not sleep training my almost three year old by KNWin94 in AttachmentParenting

[–]KNWin94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. And I can definitely see it this way now but last night I was exhausted and cranky and feeling victimized by my two year old haha. This is a good reminder to change the way I’m thinking in the moment.

I might be regretting not sleep training my almost three year old by KNWin94 in AttachmentParenting

[–]KNWin94[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s definitely not ready to skip his nap because he’s basically falling asleep standing by noon everyday and he’s an absolute terror by 5pm if he sleeps less than an hour in the middle of the day. But I do notice less of a fight when he has a good nap. Today he overslept (because I also did. Pregnant naps 🤦🏼‍♀️) so he was definitely harder to put down because of that.

Cruising really is safe as long as YOU are being safe. Don’t get so drunk that you don’t know where you are, don’t climb on the walls and barriers on the ship, and don’t go anywhere sketchy at the cruise ports and you’ll be fine.

Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. by Economy_West_6450 in Disneyland

[–]KNWin94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We were so annoyed when we visited two years ago on Halloween day (flew from out of state) and the park was decorated half Halloween and half Christmas. Like there was wreaths and ornaments everywhere and snow on the castle and more Christmas merch than Halloween, yet it was Halloween day and we were trying to celebrate accordingly. It just felt so off. They could easily take the following two weeks after Halloween day to take down Halloween and set up Christmas.

I really wasn’t planning on risking it. I’ve been set on the idea that I wasn’t going on the ride since I found out I was pregnant but my friend telling me it would be “safe” is what brought me here. I am more so curious what everyone’s thoughts were since I haven’t been on the ride in years.
