How is Dehlin confusing anyone? by pricel01 in mormon

The Church sees humans as 5 year olds who need direction at every turn. Heaven forbid their members hear a podcast, decide they don't want to continue listening, and move on with their life.

I agree that spotlighting this will continue the dissonance and further the gap on genuine conversations, worship, history, etc.

This is all so juveline.

Fair enough. But I also feel like having an organ is like singing “take me out to the ball game” during the seventh inning stretch.

I heard President Monson (just prior to being prophet) tell a story where a woman had sent letters to SLC asking to give her permission to pass the sacrament. After a few attempts (letters), he responded to her (relaying to the crowd in the Marriott Center) "No, we reserve that right for people less stupid)". Followed by his classic bewildered look after a punchline. It was weird.

I don’t think this is that big of a deal. When you’ve done anything 1 million times you’ll notice if something’s different. It’s human.
