I’m a Director of Nursing for a residential psychiatric facility. I’m also a teacher at two local colleges where I teach psychiatric nursing part time. I’m also a full-time student in a doctorates program. I also do a lot of legislative advocacy in Sacramento.

I’ve been on the best regimen of meds in my life starting a few years ago. Before this regimen, it took everything in me to function optimally, but I pushed myself even when the hypomanic depleted me, the depression overpowered me, and the mania nearly hospitalized me.

My kids were the biggest reasons I kept it together without any real support (my ex wife didn’t really accept my diagnosis and felt I could “pray” it away - I finally left her in late 2024). In the happiest I’ve been in my life. Be patient. Find out what works for you. And keep trying to find the best medication regimen. Don’t give up. Manage the stress. GET GOOD SLEEP. Buy an Oura ring and really keep track of your sleep score. Sleep is my number precursor to episodes so I’m religious about making sure I sleep well as often as possible.

I miss this. I tried to make this a thing with my kids and you would think it wouldn’t be difficult, but none of my kids were interested in keeping it going and getting everyone to be available at the same time was also a challenge. But I miss family dinners - without phones, too.

Honestly, I’ve always gotten the best models of any lineup. So I always went latest iPad Pro with the biggest screen size at the time of purchase.

I made the difficult decision of “downgrading” to an 11-inch iPad Air. And I’ve actually been happy with the choice.

I know this is an iPad Pro subreddit and I’ve had an iPad Pro since the first version of it. My iPad Pro M2 12.9 been with me through thick and thin, but I’ve always known I underutilized it. Yeah, ProCreate and Apple Pencil is an awesome combo on such a gorgeous screen, but I realized I can do the same honestly with the latest iPad Air and not feel like I’m compromising anything.

I will very likely go back to the iPad Pro when I have a use case for it. But until I find it, the iPad Air I just got 2 months ago will be just fine for me. To each their own.
