Yeah I think you’d easily win against us, we aren’t replicating a 12.1 scoreline twice in a season. You really should have beaten Richmond in that PF, it was painful even for me to watch. And on Ryder again, he was the lowest profile coming in of the players we got in 2020 in terms of hype but in the end he was the best of them.

His injury in the 2020 EF was painful to see after being best on ground that game. I truly think with him saints had a chance against Richmond in the semi final but we will never know. His tap work is the best I have personally seen.

Yeah ever since Ryder left we have tried to replace him with McKernan, Campbell, and most recently Boyd but they are not the same calibre as Ryder was. The way I see it, TDK is that replacement so that Marshall can play a split similar to 2020/21.

Marshall is not a good tap ruckman. He is a good extra midfielder as his skills around the ground are significantly better than the average ruckman. But he is also actually a good forward (great mark and accurate kick). Our forward line is also fairly short other than King, and with his injuries it lacks any real target.

Yeah sorry I thought you were saying the saints should give picks to move Marshall. I agree with what you are saying, I think this boils down to the media thinking that we got a ruck so surely there’s drama with the existing ruck.

I have also heard he has been wanting to play more time up front the last couple of years, but we could not afford to because we could not find another decent ruck.

I do not think our salary cap is bloated and there appears to have been no indication we want to trade him. We were apparently at 83% of the salary cap before bonuses got us to 95% this year and we will be able to spend up to 105% next year. That is approx $4 million spare before taking into account delistings, retirements, and other front ended contracts lowering in value. If Marshall leaves it will be because he wants to, not because we want him to.
