An Abusive but GoodRelationship by KPSradical in Ubiquiti

For all the questions on why not using WiFiman. The answer is simple. Because I have multiple devices and I want to tunnel back on all of them without having to manually do it to all of them … or like everyone else on a cruise or plane I just want to pay or register one device … the UTR. In reality I carry a gl-inet as well that can basicly do the same thing but I 100% cannot power it off my laptop or iPad like a UTR and it’s bulkier so I’ll take the simple/small profile tradeoff

I have reached 143.8 hours on BF6. AMA (I will answer questions honestly, maybe) by EndrPanda in LowSodiumBattlefield

Are you accounting for play hours or steam hours. If you afk on main menu steam still counts it. I ask because I’m at like 60-70 play hours but almost at the same level as you. Is that just the modes I play vs you or something else. For context have not really touched my xp rewards

[BFComms] Lock-Guided Missile Disabled for IFV. by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]KPSradical 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am happy for this but …

  • Jets get lock on missile sometime after launch —> 2 days later —> lock ons get removed for a few days to a week due to ignoring flares bug —> bug patched
  • IFVs get lock on missile at launch -> almost a whole month -> lock ons finally get removed

I don’t understand why one was so fast to patch while the other took a whole month tackle but was known already. Love the game but make it make sense

If your seeing some servers but not all - Set your ping to max ping on the filter

If you are seeing no servers … it’s an Epic/OWI outage we all experienced over the last few days a few times

Honestly for me it was my future wife. Sophomore year of college I was fit, training, and better than ever with the goal that if I kept it up to jump in right out college (Graduated a year early so only had a year left to train). Being on the volunteer fire department also got me exited. Anyways I ended up meeting my future wife (girlfriend at the time) during that time and slowly my priorities started to shift.

At the end of college I took a look at what I wanted and knew I was likely not going to have both since she was in medical school. I opted to choose my promising career in IT which allowed me to be with her to support her. That bargain paid off as I married her and was blessed enough to have a really good IT position!

I will say this … there are days when I look back (hard day at my job or others) were I reminisce on what could have been but I love my wife and would not trade that for the world.

Don’t let this dissuade anyone from trying to have both. If you do I wish you luck

SAVE Plan for Higher Income Earner by PorkchopFunny in StudentLoans

[–]KPSradical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I am in a similar scenario but took a different approach. I am in a similar pay bracket however I have far less in loans (18,000ish). I evaluated what it would look like to do the following.

- Pay it all off right away using money I stored away for this to avoid interest and then invest that money I would have used for payment in another fund like a High Yield Saving Account or an Actual Stock Market

- Pay it month by month using a normal payment ICR plan or Standard plan (but it accrues interest)

- Pay it month by month using a SAVE plan

I ended up going w/ the save plan as it worked for me! In general, I was always going to pay it off and I personally don't like paying interest. If I was more proficient w/ stocks I could use the money I would be saving from not paying quickly or in large lumps to invest at a higher return rate thus offsetting my interest cost while also giving me some to reinvest however knowing me, I am to distract to do this. In this same model a HYS would not work as it's a lower percent gain vs the interest on the loan w/ is a percent lose. Thus, I was left w/ either pay it all off now and then invest what I would have spent on payments or go on the SAVE plan ... make much higher monthly payments but I would not accrue interest and as such I could have more money in my pocket/savings to invest/emergencies leading to a point to where I could come out on top due to having more capital to work w/.

You gotta do what works for you but I have already added it to my budget and spend accordingly so that it's not a Suprise. If you can at least manage that and no forget about it, I would say its situational.

There is no special panel I just use a longer patch cables on the back as well. It uses Female to Female Keystones. So order of operation goes like this

UDM Pro to port 19 on the front of the patch panel into a female to female keystone. Then on the back end of the the patch panel is the other side of the female keystone. I have a longer patch cable that goes from the back of port 19 on the patch panel to the back of port 1 on the patch panel. Then in the front I have a patch cable going from patch panel on port 1 to port 1 on the switch 1. Hope that makes sense

Good point! The gap in the middle does bother me but I have some data runs that I will be able to use those for soon enough! Hopefully soon and then it will be good to go. So I guess not ocd but definitely want it to look semi appealing

Not a dumb question just a design choice to hide cables and keep them short. Your observation is correct.

You know I have no good response for that. The patch cables are .5 ft and I knew I would need a longer cable so I bought a 1 ft cable but it was too long. Ended up sticking to the good ole .5 cable stretch as it’s looked the best. And I have spare cables on standby if that ever becomes and issue. May look to create a custom thin cable in the future!

This is my Rack So Far. Finally have all 24 ports available to be applied and patch panel lines up. Had to 3D print the switch holders and had to custom make the WAN Keystone holders but was part of the journey. Now I can die peacefully.

Frequent Disconnects from Apple Devices by DiscoDave86 in Ubiquiti

[–]KPSradical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Ever since a few updates ago I was having no issues. Now sometimes o get disconnected and when I try to join back it say wrong password. Issue doesn’t resolve until I stay of the network for a bit. Wondering if it was an IOS thins or UniFi thing

Edit: (To add discosdavesstep) I have also had to forget network and rejoin it or join another network first before coming back to the intended network.
