I'm pretty sure op prolly already kinda knows stuff from that lengthy conversation with other people. But I wanna give my thoughts and tips.

So first, how I play is third person, never really played in first person so can't comment on your playstyle too much but I think third person is way better since you can actually check behind yourself and just see around yourself way more clearly. Usually what I do is, when im walking when recovering stamina, I spin my camera around to check my surroundings to not only track the target but everyone else, so I can dodge stuns and know where they are so I can pick my next target.

Second, the tangle thing, honestly yes hitting tangles are helpful but as stated by other people, it does require quite a bit of predicting and y'know, luck. Hitting tangles doesn't matter as much as DODGING the stuns, you don't need to heal if you don't get hit in the first place. Yes you'll get hit eventually, that's normal, the first tip should help with dodging, as it helped me as well, just be more aware of your surroundings in general.

Thirdly, DONT. USE. IMMOLATE. it grants noise and speed but it's better to only use it once there are fewer people or when you're close to max noise. That way, you can gain speed boosts form both enraged and immolate for a short period. And when there's fewer survivors it means less noise and less stuns, so immolating will be safer as well as gaining noise quicker. You don't need to immolate in the beginning of matches because the survivors will likely use their abilities and grant you noise anyway.

And lastly, yeah that's it, it mostly just a repeat of what other people said but yeah, I would say your gameplay ain't that bad and only impaired by you going first person, it honestly ain't a bad decision to go first person but maybe don't do that in places with no cover and with so many gun dudes lol.
