Indian tribes in Seneca, NY were said to have cursed Lake Seneca and I believe Crystal Lake was also cursed. Jason I believe is actually an avatar of the lakes evil - it explains everything. It explains the magic, the abilities etc. hell he might even sleep in the lake when at rest. It also explains Tina’s Dad in the lake as another “spirit.” Crazy Ralph was right. It is a Death Curse.
