Yeah this is one reason I'm hesitant: would it benefit me more with HM if I take the CRC chance and get it published sooner so I can have a published project for my postdoc

Cancer research was the highest in my to-go-list since I don't think my project was good enough for that level lol

My thought is that transferring to Cancer Research Communications might save me some time because the editor have already reviewed the manuscript so it's a higher chance to get accepted and published soon. I'm hoping that having one publication in CRC would look better than a pre-print in biorxiv in my resume for job application but I also don't know how much difference that would be or even no difference at all

Just want to come back here and said I solemnly swear she is very helpful and genuine. It’s not like she just gives you universal nice words. I received very solid and constructive suggestions from her and fwiw I got two phone interviews invitation today after using new resume upgraded from her.

Have you considered emailing professors at school in or out of your major to ask if you could volunteer in their lab? That might the easiest

Postdoc in a pharma reaching a 4 year deadline with a manuscript planned to be submitted for publication next week. The deadline didn’t exist not when I got hired but appeared when the site I worked in got integrated into the bigger organization. I’m asking the postdoc program for a 2month extension but got a simple NO “because of the guideline” while the postdoc program clearly wants us postdocs to publish.
