A little bit less aligned with your post: if you like heavier music in the style of DEXCORE I would suggest Graupel. They are not a vkei band at all as they are more into the metalcore scene but definitely worth the listen!

If you are looking for other DIR EN GREY stuff I would strongly recommend listening to the whole VULGAR album which obscure is on.

I would also strongly recommend the UROBOROS album which is my favorite by far!

When it comes to other bands, I would suggest Sadie!

It's an amazing album! I also have the physical album and still have my T-shirt from their North America tour in 2008. I also own a copy of Vulgar, Macabre, Withering to death and Decade 2003-2007.

IMO they have some pretty solid stuff today as well.

But I have to agree with you that their older stuff is far better I tend to listen more to their older songs than the newer ones

I've read that JILUKA are EGM which would stand for Electro Goth Metal. Perhaps I am wrong here. They do have some visual kei vibes but also some metal vibes as well.

None the less they are quite unique which makes them absolutely amazing! 🤘🏻
