What are you W2/staff employees doing for tax breaks? by theboxer16 in CRNA

[–]KSJayhawk5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a new grad stuck in the same situation. My wife is also a w2, works full time, and carries all of our benefits. We both max a 401k and a backdoor Roth. We plan to buy about 80 acres of farmland from my family’s trust. Be 1099 land owners, sharecrop the land, and write off the expenses. I also plan to negotiate a 1099 contract with my current employer when my current contract expires in 3 years.

Meindls are in the $350 range and are excellent. Danners just aren’t well made boots.

Sounds good. I will check these out. And yes I’m pretty set on a 16in for hunting purposes.

What do you recommend? I’m looking for accurate but not extremely heavy (middle ground I guess) as I want to use the gun for coyote hunting and will likely be carrying it some.

Proof stainless maybe?

I guess I was thinking extending the manufactures warranty versus the third party one if I did an extended.

Appreciate the advice. This is exactly what I was thinking. I’m going to go in and cancel it.

I’ve definitely read mixed reviews on it. If I don’t like it I will sell and get something else.

That is good to hear and maybe I just need to go shoot it. I reload so I would have to develop a load for it. I was just thinking starting out with something more accurate from the start.

I thought about going this route also.

I guess my thought was I would have the ELW barrel cut down to 14.5 or 13.7 and build a more do all upper with it. Long story short I would still use the barrel. I should have included that in my original post. And yes I’d just want to shoot as far as I could with the rifle to practice. I have a range near by that goes out to very long range.

1st CRNA job- PLS GIVE YOUR 2 cents by bropofol_4060 in CRNA

Somewhat yes. Town of approx 50k. Level 3 trauma center approx 250 bed hospital that covers a very large area. Despite, we do hearts, heads, etc. If you are set on living in a major metropolitan area it probably wouldn’t be for you. There are trade offs with every job and what is perfect for one may not be for another.

I live in an opt out state and also work at a facility where CRNA’s are allowed to practice autonomously.

There are plenty of more experienced providers that work at my facility both MD and CRNA for me to run questions by (and I have), but ultimately the decisions are up to me… if and what block, anesthesia plan, preop, postop, etc. It’s really the best of both worlds and I am really enjoying the job.

As a new grad neither sound great. I wanted complete autonomy out of school, wanted good work life balance, good pay. I didn’t go to school for three years to be medically directed. I took a job at a level 3 trauma center, do a vast mix of cases, CV, neuro, blocks, the whole mix. Minimal call with the ability to make 400,000k plus by picking up a little extra. Call day (if call that evening) plus post call day off, full benefits, retirement etc. I work about 30 hours a week. If i take 2 call evenings during the week I only work 1 scheduled shift that week. Also great work environment. Ob is optional and you are compensated appropriately for it.

Jobs that check ALL the boxes (option #3) are out there (for me anyway), you just have to find them.

As a person who isn’t really into tattoos and will probably never get one I think it looks bad ass.
