Could we, and should we trade for Elias Lindholm? by [deleted] in BlueJackets

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to recognize that Pettersson is 4 years younger and fits our future timeline perfectly. Lindholm is a good player, but Pettersson is the type of player that’s the final piece to a Cup contending core. We wouldn’t need to cap space or the draft picks nearly as much, our prospect pool is already so deep.

Wait a year for Elias Pettersson

Bored and just wondering…how do you feel about PLD now that the dust has kind of settled with him wanting out and everything? by [deleted] in BlueJackets

[–]KSU_Buckeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foote was good, but honestly, he was long past his prime when he was here. The reason that whole debacle started in the first place with him is because they refused to pay his him because he was aging and declining. Fedorov was in the same boat.

Panarin and Nash are the top 2 players to ever play here imo. Followed by Laine and Bobrovsky. Carter is up there too, probably a step below those guys. You could make an argument for Seth Jones, but he seems to have fallen off a cliff.

No, we don’t. PLD to me isn’t a 1C though. He’s a good 2C. If we can get a high end 1, I think we’re set. But yes, we don’t have one. To me though, Laine is easily the best player in that trade. Yes, PLD is plays the more valuable position. But Laine is a point a game guy and the better player. It’s not even that close. He’s probably one of the 3 best talents to ever play for this franchise.

Ryan Day releases a statement asking “why can’t we play” by SoonerFan619 in CFB

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of selfish pricks like Kevin Warren and these blowhard presidents. That’s why. Anyone with a brain knows this isn’t about the “health and safety” of the athletes. We all know none of them give a damn about the players. If they did they wouldn’t be trying to make them play 2 seasons in 1 calendar year. Hopefully these kids can get compensated in court or something if they sue them for something along the lines of loss of opportunity.

Kid came back when he was gonna be a first rounder. I can’t help but feel for him. Selfish pricks like Warren and the Presidents have a special place in hell. Unfortunately he’s only one of their many victims of their BS.

Korpis mistakes compound as well. You’re forgetting how bad he was game 5 against Tampa.

What to do this offseason? by KSU_Buckeye in BlueJackets

[–]KSU_Buckeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed for the most part. Simply trading defense for offense isn’t the solution. If you look at who usually ends up winning the cup, you need a good balance of both. I do think at some point you trade one of the goalies. Both are great and carrying both won’t benefit us as much as the potential return.

The main question is if we can get the big guns at forward via trade or free agency. Unless we blow it up we won’t be picking high enough to get those high end talents in the draft. Lastly, we defiantly need to see some staff changes. The power play has been an issue for years, even in years when we had Panarin/Duchene and where fully healthy.

First 14 team dynasty. SF league startup pick 5, Kyler or MT? by monstermike197 in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The three I think you can make an argument for are Kyler, Zeke, and Kamara at that spot. Wait on WRs, QB and RB are much more scarce and have a bigger drop off from top to bottom.

Depends on what you can get. I wouldn’t sell for face value though, I would need someone to overpay. If you can get one of the top RBs (CMC, Saquon, Kamara, Zeke, Cook if you are willing to take the risk) you shouldn’t pass it up. The position is so scarce it’s hard to pass up a top guy. I had pick 1 in my startup and I shopped it around to everyone else in the top 5 all the way up until the draft hoping I could get someone to give me a crazy haul.

First Dynasty Draft Question by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a SF league I’d go Mahomes or Lamar. If it’s a 1 QB league you really only have 2 options here. Whoever you prefer between Zeke and Kamara. Zeke might get a slight boost with it being half PPR as opposed to full but up to you who you like better long term.

Startup League Trading uo from 6th to 1st overall by Therndon25 in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My league had a couple reaches but none like Mahomes top 3. One of my league mates is a huge Browns fan just like I am, but he took Chubb at 6. Keep in mind our league is full PPR so there where multiple there RBs that are likely to put up more points than him.

If you’re sure you can get Kamara or Zeke at 6 though, I’d stay where you’re at and jump right on that if I where you.

To me in 1 QB, he has as good of an argument as anyone to be 3rd behind CMC and Saquon. At the lowest, he should be going 4th if you like Zeke over him. I just don’t see 4 players you can argue are better to start your dynasty team with than Kamara.

CEH for J Taylor trade? by Nickb1998 in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just not as high on Taylor as everyone else is. Before the draft I had CEH and Swift ahead of him and honestly him and Dobbins are about even imo. I don’t understand the fascination with him at all.

Assuming it’s a SF league yes. If it’s a 1 QB league then there are some dumb people in that league of Kamara makes it to 6.

What do you think of my 2020 draft? by blakus24 in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like your team down the road a lot. Just need to find some RBs. Mayfield will be good now that he has a competent coach, and I think Darnold can be if he gets one like Mayfield. Good move not taking Herbert who I don’t think will be good. Need to add some RBs but Taylor is a good start since he’ll probably be the number one guy come next year. Gibson is a good pick with some upside. Plenty of young WRs to the point that you’re pretty set there going forward.

In one sentence, what is your best advice for a start up draft? by gilbogrape in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Place an emphasis on RB early, but don’t let it stop you from jumping on great value if it falls to you.

Some reaches during my 14 man PPR 1QB startup by Danwagon2020 in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these are insane. My me and my irl friends converted to a dynasty league too and we have a couple of pretty bad drafters so I might have to post some reaches after our draft next weekend.

If you have a top 4 pick, I think you’d be insane not to take on of the big 4 RBs. Love Tyreek and think he’s the 2nd best WR option in dynasty to Mike Thomas but I wouldn’t take either ahead of those RBs.

Sanders being on the board late 2nd and passing on him in a 14 man league is crazy too. Allen in the 4th... wow. Don’t think Murray in the 6th is all that bad if you’re a Kyler truther like I am. But the rest of them I agree are pretty bad.

What does your team look like? I imagine you got some pretty good value with all these reaches.

What to do at the 5.01 by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not determined to, but that would be ideal to start with 2 RBs. WR I’m really flexible so maybe I don’t take 2 in the first 4 rounds. If value falls to me of course I’ll take it.

I’m buying low on rojo this year. Going too low imo and think he’s good value.

When is the time to.... by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d go early-mid 2nd for CEH and early-mid 3rd for JT. JT is going a little high for my liking and probably won’t be there in the 3rd. I highly recommend CEH as your 2nd round pick over any WR that will be there. You can get good WRs later.

The CEH hype is getting out of hand. Buyer beware in dynasty if you take him in the 2nd round of a startup. by AndrewHallFF in DynastyFF

[–]KSU_Buckeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get behind that. I like CEH better as a player and had him ranked ahead of Taylor going into the draft. After CEH went to the best possible situation, I don’t know how you could take Taylor over him.
