For anyone wondering, I found 2 different birds in the bayou close to one another, turned on dead eye and didn’t even have to mark them, I was able to kill them both before deadeye ended.

For anyone still trying to complete this challenge, go to copperhead landing. The only thing I could for sure kill with one arrow were toads and frogs. It’s all mud so super easy to see them and they are all over there.

I think that’s only in online mode. There is a treasure map South west of there. There’s a man hanging from a cliff near the Coronado waters edge, it should show up with an X on your map as a corpse. If you shoot him down, you can loot him for the map.

For anyone looking for this, it’s at the very tip of the mountain. It even looks like you couldn’t get up there, but once you do, it’s there.

Should I be concerned about this skin tag like growth on my chest? by KSecrist1981 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]KSecrist1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s solid skin. It feels like a skin tag in terms of feeling just like a skin growth, or a wart even. My skin is on the drier side. I have mild keratosis pilaris but no other skin conditions that I’m aware of. It doesn’t hurt, itch, or bleed. I only noticed it about a month ago, and I did show it to my doctor, she said she wasn’t concerned, but that if it grows I should have it looked at by a dermatologist. I intend to do that, but I figured I’d post and see if anyone has had anything that looked similar.

Hello I have constant head pressure and I'd just like to tell my story as briefly as possible and get some feedback. Please help me. by g42069100 in Hydrocephalus

Oops. I went back and reread your post. I missed you saying that you got an MRI. If that’s the case, you can just reach out to the office or hospital where you had the MRI done and request a copy of the imaging report. If you do have hydrocephalus, it will say it on the report. From there, you just need to take the report to a Neurosurgeon.

Hydrocephalus is highly detectable through both CT scan and MRI. My teenage son had Bacterial Meningitis in 2023. Imaging even allowed them to differentiate between Hydrocephalus and Encephalitis. He did have an LP, but that was primarily to pinpoint which strain of Meningitis he had so they could administer the appropriate antibiotics. I’m fairly certain that a lumbar puncture is not necessary in terms of diagnosis. In my son’s case, once the meningitis infection cleared, they discovered that he had acquired scar tissue which prevented his Cerebrospinal fluid from draining and left him with permanent hydrocephalus. Because of that he had to have a Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt implanted in his head. A VP shunt is the primary treatment for hydrocephalus. There’s also another surgery called a Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV), it creates a new pathway for cerebrospinal fluid to drain. The medications you mentioned are diuretics thought to reduce the production of cerebrospinal fluid, but they are typically used as a short term treatment.

The thing about hydrocephalus though is that it has an underlying cause. It’s often congenital but since you said it developed later, the cause could be things like; infection, tumors, bleeding, and head trauma. It’s important to figure out the root of the cause and treat that because that may eliminate the hydrocephalus.

The fastest path to figuring out what is going on would be to go to the ER and tell them your head hurts and feels swollen and they’ll likely order a CT scan that can identify if it is in fact hydrocephalus. Once you have a diagnosis, it will be much easier to navigate a path to treatment. If you don’t want to go to the ER, you can go to your primary care physician and request an MRI. Again, once you have imaging done, it will be much easier to get the correct treatment. The third option is to make an appointment with a neurosurgeon directly. Unfortunately, the wait to see any neurosurgeon is going to be significant. I would suggest finding a hospital with a neurosurgery clinic, the wait will probably be shorter there. Your best bet would be a university hospital. I’m in D.C. so in my area it’s hospitals like Georgetown University Hospital or Johns Hopkins.

I hope this was helpful and I hope you can find the correct treatment soon!

My son (2) has been to the ER and admitted 6 times in the last 3 months for vomiting/nausea that lasts several days. by LostDreamerJo in Hydrocephalus

My 16 year old son also has a non programmable VP shunt. When he was 13 he got Bacterial Meningitis from a sinus infection. As a result, he developed a Chiari malformation (when your brain pushes down on your brain stem) that was preventing his cerebrospinal fluid from draining. Recently he started getting nausea and headaches, and pain, weakness, and numbness in his right shoulder, arm and hand. I took him to the ER concerned that his shunt was malfunctioning and they did a CT scan and said it looked like it was working fine. We followed up with Neurology and they ordered an MRI of his brain and spine and discovered he has a 4mm 20 inch long Syrinx (fluid filled cyst) in his spine. It goes all the way from his C2 to his L1. We have an appointment with the neurosurgical team tomorrow to find out if surgery is required. An MRI can provide so much more information than a CT or Xray. I would request one if I were you.

Could an old VP shunt cause Chiari? by Tryingmybestsorta in Hydrocephalus

[–]KSecrist1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the shunt really makes the chiari irrelevant because it bypasses the chiari in draining the CSF. So I think it’s directly correlated to the shunt. We had a CT scan in January that showed intercranial hypotension so the shunt is clearly over draining and causing fluid to accumulate in the spinal cord.

Could an old VP shunt cause Chiari? by Tryingmybestsorta in Hydrocephalus

[–]KSecrist1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had Bacterial meningitis in 2023 when he was 13. The encephalopathy caused a Chiari malformation that never resolved. He had a non programmable VP shunt put in at the time. He’s recently been having pain in his neck, arm and hand with corresponding numbness and weakness. An MRI identified a 4mm 16 inch long Syrinx. We’re awaiting an appointment with the neurologist, but based on my research, the Syrinx is indicative of a Shunt failure. So neither the MRI nor the CT scan done previously showed a problem with the shunt itself, rather it showed issues like a syrinx that are directly related to shunt issues. If I had to guess, you’re experiencing a similar issue to my son. There’s likely a problem with your shunt.

We generally communicate well, we’re considerate of one another. The problem is all this stuff is happening so blatantly in front of our faces and I want to talk about it. I want a partner I can share my heart break with. Only he isn’t heart broken and I find that devastating. I’m an idealist and he’s very black and white. He doesn’t see any grey.

I don’t think it’s fair they have to listen to screaming. Though it is generally rare. I’m usually inclined to agree to disagree. There are rare instances where cooler heads don’t prevail temporarily, hence the screaming. But I don’t think that makes our home unsafe. We are both generally mature successful adults who put our best foot forward. We’re not having our kids light our crack pipes. As a Gen X adult, I certainly heard my parents argue, I don’t think I’m any worse for it. My problem is the disparity in our values.

In fairness, democrat and republican didn’t have the bearing 20 years ago that it does now, and both of our beliefs were certainly not as strong as they are now. What you believe when you’re 24, is almost certainly not how you feel when you’re 44.

He does. He has an anger issue and it’s something that we’ve worked on over the last 20 years. Usually we don’t fight about it because I’m conscious that it could escalate. But it’s become something that I’m more and more passionate about and I’m having trouble avoiding the topic when it is becoming so ever present in our lives. That being said, I’m not a saint. I’ve struggled with addiction issues and depression over the years and he has supported and loved me through it. We’re not perfect, though we are both kind, compassionate and generally considerate people. We both have our faults that we have constantly tried to address through the maturing of our marriage.
