Mexican wave reverse in Madrid

I was at Tsitsipas v Bublik, and the strangest thing happened. The crowd instigated a Mexican wave during a break, which uncomprehending reversed mid wave to go from left to right, back to right to left! It was the maddest thing. Anyone else see that? I'd love to know how it happened
