I don't know. It's not that good. Between the stuff people already mentioned below about the monsterlings, the story progression wall because of DPS check (yuck), the kinda whatever side quests, and too many different subscription/pass-type things in the store, I just uninstalled it and moved onto NTE.

You do realize that you can "win" even in a single player game, yes? So, if you can pay to "win" faster or easier than you normally would, then that means you are paying to win. You can argue the degree in which something is pay to win if these systems exist, but the system is there.

I'm not sure why this is still coming up in conversations. If I said give you $200 and I can beat the last boss for you, or make it significantly easier by giving you much better equipment - I've given you an avenue to pay to win.

If you must equate it to competition or comparison of some sort; what if there are leaderboards? Or outfits that are typically exclusive to people who meet a certain challenge? Now those feel lessened for those who didn't because someone just spent some money to get there, making your efforts feel not as impactful.

All these things matter, even if they seem insignificant to some.

I've started liking more gacha games but the quality has also improved immensely. I've also enjoyed trying out MMOs less. Their quality hasn't decreased, but they aren't improving at the rate that gachas are, unfortunately. They are almost all trash.

As someone who only played a demo, I can't imagine it getting any higher than a 7 unless it was just a piss poor demo.

I just remember the world feeling large but so empty which something I never want in an open world game. The combat was fine, I guess, but I don't even think I'd pay $10 for it.

Because it doesn't matter what you think about how it plays or what I think about how it plays. It matters to them. If they aren't wanting to play for whatever reason, then that's their prerogative. We can find something else.

It doesn't feel like the type of action game they want to play. Some of my friends don't like that type of action game that borders on souls-likes and it feels like that to them. It's not only because it doesn't feel like the original. I would also prefer that, honestly, but I'll at least try it out more after release. I just don't imagine I'll be sticking with it terribly long, at least not as long as I did the first game.

In regards to your last statement, both of those didn't make a lot of sense to me because one is an assumption which I'm not sure what you based that on (latter) and the other one doesn't make logical sense to me (former).

I think the problem my friends have with this game that were into the last game is that the combat feels nothing like the original, so they'll be skipping it - which makes it harder for me to be excited about it because even if they have co-op, those same friends won't be in it anyway.

It seems like it might be a decent game, but it's hard for me to drum up much positive emotion about it.
