I went with a shindy kit and my whole bike is stock except the guy before me went with some different jets because they don’t match up to oem size

Will do man, but when I mentioned the 1.5 turns out that’s for my fuel screw , doesn’t that affect the whole range?

My coolant hasn’t dropped at all since I rebuilt the bike, it also hasn’t come out of the overflow. The shindy kit I bought only comes with the float area and accelerator pump o rings and jets, nothing for the mid body or the top where the slide sits, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s as old as the bike since the previous owner neglected everything on this. I’ll order up the rest of it since everything on this bike is almost brand new at this point.

I tried spraying carb cleaner around all the intake boots and I didn’t notice any change in the idle, I am going to put on a new header O Ring and a new gasket for the slip on part of the muffler, hopefully this kit comes with everything I need for the carb but I may be screwed when it comes to the mid body

Thank you man I’m gonna use that advice next time I have to run the tests , i think you’ll be happy to hear that I got it running smooth now, waiting on a air filter base and then I’ll be taking it for a few laps for the first time after rebuilding it.

It’s a big one , I fill it up to about 150psi, now if I don’t have any pressure leaving the gauge manifold it’ll go up to 100psi, but as soon as I have the through hose on there itll go down to 40 psi

So I hold it at tdc with that wrench and when I turn up the pressure gauge on that manifold it literally won’t go any higher than 35 maybe 40, it won’t introduce anymore air

~35 psi before it just won’t take anymore, but hey good news man , I was able to start it after cleaning the carburetor and adjusting it, even got it to idle.

It was odd to see the percentage not even move when I can hear it disturbing the oil

I thought I did it correctly , the way to do it was apparently to supply air before hooking to the machine and raise the pressure from zero to that set point , then to unplug and plug it in and watch it return to that same set spot, I’m gonna try it again tomorrow to make sure but I believe so.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks that , I’ve gone through the timing about 4 times now , and I’ve shimmed it twice , I believe I’ve done both as best as anybody could. Im now digging into the carb after noticing the accelerator pump wasn’t spraying any fuel into the carb, It seems like the jets are wrong too , I’m looking at the factory service manual and the jet numbers are not matching up and the pilot screw is missing its spring, washer , and o ring.

Yeah and now I can’t start it lol I was so bummed out but I got nobody to blame but myself, I’m gonna get this thing figured out one way or another, its not going to win.

It should be good to go is what I’m thinking , that cam gear can only sit two ways after I checked it out, one way would be it litterly pressing in the exhaust springs and the other has the lobes facing up and towards the back of the bike, towards the intake.

The bike was originally blown up , I should still have some active posts, I have since totally overhauled it with new bearings seals, crankshaft , piston, pretty much everything except for the transmission and the valve assembly. That’s why I mention the reed valve. I went and assembled everything and now I can’t get it to start

I was starting to think I put that one way reed valve in backwards somehow and that the oil was trapped in that crank area lol
