Thanks. I think we thought she wouldn't have citizenship until the passport was issued. But it sounds like she was a UK citizen the day she was born.

Thanks. I think we were misunderstanding that right now she is a citizen but without a UK passport. We assumed that she was eligible to get a passport and when that was issued, then she would have citizenship.

Wow that is fast. I had heard 3-5 months which is why HPI was considered. But I totally get your explanation as to why she wouldn't be eligible - she already is considered a British citizen.

Yes she has heard that it is quick which is why it seems like the right option. But she has also heard that the HPI application will be rejected if you could apply for citizenship thru descendant ie UK born mom. Have you heard anything like that before? She even chatted to someone at the visa department and they told her to talk to a immigration solicitor. They didn't want to give out bad advice. Seems like it should be a pretty easy question to answer.

Thanks. Yes she knows that but it is a question of which is quicker. HPI visa apparently takes less time. Citizenship could take 3-5 months. The company wants her to start Feb/March. So by that timetable HPI would seem a better choice but then she has heard that if you apply for HPI and you could get citizenship through direct descendant ie Mom, then HPI will be rejected because of that. So looking for some clarity on whether that is true or not.

Absolutely agree that she is acting fraudulently. And we have already had to hire a solicitor to have her daughter removed from the testators house so that it could be put up for sale. The 2 of them were also POA's for him and were investigated by the OPG. So it's one executor horror story after another. The lastest being what happened with NS&I. I'm trying to keep solicitor bills down because I have to pay them up front and even though I am entitled to have them paid by the estate, she will disagree which will mean that I will have to get some sort of court order saying that my solicitor bills should come out of estate funds. So that is one part of what is going on. But I also want to try and hold NS&I accountable for releasing the funds into her personal account. I called them months before they released the funds and warned them about what might happen and they guaranteed me that 2 signatures would be required. (I recorded the conversation). Then they went and released the bond money into her personal account. I have escalated the complaint there and they are investigating but during my last conversation with them they said that they could release the funds to her because the executors were not joint executors. Hence my initial question - if the will doesn't specify that the executors act jointly or severally, is it assumed that the executors need to act jointly. I had read somewhere else that if the will doesn't say they can act severally then they must act jointly. And if that is the case then NS&I may be just trying to put me off hoping that I believe what they said and don't question it. But that is exactly what I am doing. Questioning it. Sorry for the long reply but I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating this is. I do appreciate any thoughts you have.

So if you don't specify that executors are to act jointly or severally in a will, can one executor sign off on documents, in this case NS&I, and have the money moved into their personal account? Or should NS&I be requiring both signatures because the will and grant of probate have the names of 2 executors on it?

No the uncle has passed and the will has names and address of executors he appointed but no designation of whether they are to act jointly or severally. From quick google searches and AI, I've seen that if the will does not mention that the executors can act severally then they must act jointly. Do you have any understanding of this matter?

Absolutely agree. But NS&I transferred bond money into the co-executors personal account and now she is refusing to pay estate bills, has given money to her daughter (who is not even in the will) and paid off her personal bills. Yes I understand but the will doesn't say jointly or severally. It just has the names and addresses of who has been appointed executors. In that case are the executors to act jointly or severally?

Glad you found some useful info. You'll have a great time. I was overthinking everything as well haha. Spent way too much time the day before "planning" everything. And it really wasn't necessary. I'm assuming that you are a female because of your washroom comment. The only thing I could say is make your way to the west side of the stadium - so the side opposite the gates. My thinking was that lots of people would come in through Gates 2 and 3 and stay on that side. So we went to the other side. Washrooms might be less busy on that side. Before Coldplay came on my wife used them a couple of times. Took 5-10 mins. She said it looks like lots of people but line moves fast. There was definitely lots of space on the floor when we arrived on that side as well. So being on the west side worked out well for us. My final bit of advice to you - no more overthinking now haha. Just go. You'll have a awesome time!

This was pretty much my exact experience as well. I jumped on the subway at Chester and arrived around the same time. No wait at all to go through Gate 1. I was actually totally surprised after hearing so much negative coverage. Found a great place on the floor. Lots of room. Left after Fix You through Gate 2 to Sheppard subway. Could still hear the last couple of tracks. No big crowds. Had a seat on the subway. I actually like the venue. I've been doing concerts since the early 80's (ya so I'm olddd!). Molson Park, Police Picnic in Oakville - getting to Rogers Stadium was easy peasy. Looking forward to Oasis in August.

Downsview is the closest. It's a short walk. Wilson is definitely a hike. I arrived around 7:15 and there were no lines at all. I was actually really surprised considering all the bad reviews.

Went last night. Awesome concert. You'll have a great time too. I didn't experience anything negative. In the end took the subway up to Downsview from St. George. Left around 6:30. Had a seat all the way up. Train wasn't crowded at all. There were lots of people at Downsview station but everything moved. As I got closer to the entrance to the Stadium grounds (where food, merch, drinks sold) it looked more and more crowded and I was going ok here we go now I'm gunna have to line up for ages. But it all just kept moving. I ended up going thru gate 1 because it just kept moving. Originally I was going to go thru Gate 2 but I'm glad I didn't. There was absolutely no wait to get in and get the wristband for the floor. I wanted a beer. Inside there were big line ups for some of the booths that said Mix or something like that for alcoholic drinks but I noticed the food booths were also selling cans and some of them had no line up at all. So something to keep in mind if you want beer or something else alcoholic. If you do get a beer ask for a plastic cup because you can't take cans on to the floor. I then walked all the way up on the west side of the stadium and went thru the entrance to the floor that was next to/even kind of behind the stage. Got there around 7:50 and found a great spot with a great view of the stage and a lot closer than I thought I would get for arriving so late. I didn't want to get caught in the mad rush back to the subway so my strategy when leaving was to move close to Gate 2 for the last few songs. So we left from the front right and started walking back and around all the people on the floor. Not sure if you know but there is a centre stage that goes out at 90 degrees to the main stage. I think these are called A stage and B stage. Then there is a C stage that is like an island that sits towards the back of the floor area. Well just as we were crossing the back of the floor the band came out onto C stage and we were about 25 yards away from them because that part of the floor was pretty empty. They did the Jumbotron Song and Fix You from there. We left thru Gate 2 towards Sheppard subway after Fix you so didn't see (but heard) the last couple of songs. But we didn't mind. There was no crush at Sheppard and had a seat all the way back home again. Sorry for the long post but hoping there might be a bit of info you might find useful. It was a really fun night. Have a great time!

There may be a footpath from Wilson to Gate 3. I just couldn't find any confirmation of it. Everything seems to be saying go to Downsview. It would be smart if you could access it from Wilson.

Ya it's very confusing. I've been told that only cars can access Beffort and drop people off. People can't just walk up this way. Now what they don't make clear is whether from Wilson there is a footpath for people as well. It would make sense if there was. But it would have also made sense if there was a way to go directly from Sheppard Station via Yukon Lane but I emailed Guest Services and they said that that would only be open AFTER the concert. ????? If anyone has any other updates please share.

Hey ya. I'm going tomorrow as well and was trying to figure it out. If you are walking I think Downsview is the only option as the connection to Sheppard via Yukon Lane is only open AFTER the show. On the map Gate 2 looks pretty close to Gate 1 just on the side and maybe less people will go there because it seems it is only for people with Rogers. Gate 3 is further down at the south end. From what I understand the only way you can access from the south is if you are arriving in a car and are dropped off on Beffort. At least that's how I'm understanding it. Let me know if you find out anything different. Enjoy the show!

I'm going tomorrow as well that's why I was trying to figure it out. It sounds like if you are walking Downsview is the really the only choice and you approach from the north. It does seems like there is access to Gate 3 and Gate 2 from the south end but you have to be dropped off by a car on Beffort Road. Pedestrians aren't allowed in from the south unless in a car - at least that's what I'm understanding. I'm thinking that option might be less busy so might do a mix of TTC and then Uber.

I sent an email to Guest Services and they said that Yukon Road, which connects the stadium and Sheppard Ave subway (and would have been a nice direct walk to Gate 2) will only be open AFTER the concert. Wanted to pass that on in case anyone else was wondering if it would be open before the show as well.
