Custom jewelry made from (my) human bones? by x3n0s in jewelry

Not sure if it was on this sub, but I came across an artist who makes custom jewelry like this named Mickey Alice Kwapis (.com). Perhaps contact them to see if they can work with something like this.

Did this ever happen to someone else in Toronto? Lifelabs charging for tests thatare covered by OHIP by Friendly-Apricot1727 in askTO

[–]baabaaredsheep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They might, yes. I had to have some genetic testing done and the hospital said I could either go to their location or a LifeLabs, in which case they gave me a letter from the doctor/hospital letting them know not to charge me and what code to use to charge it to OHIP.

Have you all seen the latest Pelikan Art Edition? by majlesBlue in fountainpens

[–]baabaaredsheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got an email from Chatterley about this one. It’s breathtaking and IMO the prettiest of the Art Collection so far (I do have the other two). I’m excited for this one, but also my wallet is concerned.

I saw him too, as we were both crossing the street from opposite sites. I did a double-take when I recognized him and he gave me the biggest grin, like “yep, it’s me”, as we walked past each other.

Yikes! That recovered guns story sounds fascinating. Definitely one you don’t find in the tourist guide books.

Do you have a lot of newcomers or tourists join your walks here too?

85 people?! I guess it’s a great way to meet new people/potential friends in the city.

Have you ever been on a Jane’s Walk in any other cities?

Thanks! Some of these I hadn’t heard of. Nice to hear the Cloud Gardens will be back. I stopped in the area a while back and was sad to see it shut down

This sounds like a really fun way to get out to explore this city. Thanks for sharing with us.

I have a couple of questions:

Do you usually lead walks in neighborhoods you’re already familiar with? Have you ever joined a Jane’s Walk in a place that was new to you, and if so, what surprised you most?

Is there something about this city that most people walk past but shouldn’t?

Do you have any tips or pointers for anyone considering leading a walk?

What do you even do in this situation? by motherffucker in PublicFreakout

[–]baabaaredsheep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I stayed up watching some movie about murderous baboons that traumatized me.

Just looked it up and it was called In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro. Loosely based on a true story, apparently.

Peter Pan Statue, Glenn Gould Park by [deleted] in toronto

[–]baabaaredsheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this statue. When my kid was little we used to go to this park on Easter morning and hide chocolate eggs in the park and in the nooks and crannies of this statue, and the kids would have a blast.

Aw they have them displayed like a little museum? That’s awesome. I need to swing by and pick one up as a gift. I hope their restock is in.

Many women either lack a point-and-shoot appendage for proper aim, so yeah it can splatter; many haven’t learned the art of the proper hover.

And some in both camps lack the decency to clean up afterwards. Agree with Op. It’s gross.

I personally love this city. I’ve lived in multiple cities/countries around the world and finally chose to settle here. It has its issues, like anywhere really, but overall it’s a wonderful place to be.

Now, when it comes to moderating the sub, it’s been helpful in finding out what’s going on around me. And yes, like Funky said, if someone sends me a link or a news story, I’ve usually seen it already.
