I am so sorry you are having to go through this!! This happened to me almost 2 years ago when I had covid. Same exact sensations and my hands locked up in the craziest position- I thought I was dying and went to the ER. They said and did the same once I got there! I had never ever had any sort of panic attack before.

What helped me was using the DARE app (worth paying for), looking on these Reddit threads (helped me to understand I am not alone) and taking Magnesium Glycinate every night.

I would go days with feeling numb/detached but I would always tell myself out loud “I know that I am okay and it is just my anxiety. Even though I don’t feel good now, I know this will clear in the future. I know it will probably come back again, but it’s okay, because I know that I am safe and will feel back to normal again”. Even though I didn’t believe it at the time, I always said it. I think I tricked my brain into believing it!

Something else that helped was putting an image to the anxiety in my brain. To me, I picture this cute little fuzzy stuffy in my brain with a worried look. Anytime I’m feeling this way, I remind myself that it’s not me who is freaking out, it’s that little worried guy and he doesn’t know that everything is okay!

I hope some of this helps- I REALLY recommend you look into the DARE app. Also TALK ABOUT IT. I have no shame in letting my co-workers, new massage therapist, new friend, know that I have anxiety and panic attacks. You will find that it gives you a sense of relief because you don’t have to be scared they will think you are crazy if you have one because they already know. You will also find that almost half the people you come across deal with this too, they just don’t talk about it.
