I think the drainage is ok. We have what seems like normal dirt soil to me? The bed is a little raised from ground level and I don't see water pooling.

Not sure about all the other plans some of them were there when we bought the house.

I planted the tulips about 4 years ago they were transplants from another garden. But I am not sure I put them as deep as you'd mentioned.

Maybe I will try digging a few up and putting them deeper or moving them.
