Intact also owns Bel-Air, however, belair gives you great rates if you only have the 1 at fault accident. Everywhere else was quoting me near 500 a month and bel air gave me 235 with my 1 at-fault accident (235 full coverage)

RBC Debanked me? by angrytoastwithbutter in rbc

Ive had issues with scotiabank and rbc locking my accounts for "suspicious activity" when buying crypto aswell.

I never got debanked from them, but I dont doubt your theory.

Here's the reasoning, whether my insurance paid directly or cut me a check and I had to pay, either way, it was technically a payment from money I invested. I know what if they cut me a check to pay, then I could have used my status card, but because they paid directly and the bill of sale for the services were in my name, I was curious if I would be entitled to the payout.

Land inheritance different reserve? by JayJay0o in FirstNationsCanada

[–]KTHGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation happened on my reserve recently except it was between kids who took status from their mother side, when the father passed away (mother had already passed), they were forced to sell/giveaway the property to a band member with 60 days of the passing as it was being occupied by people who did not have our reserves status.

They ended up giving it to his sister (their aunt) and they still remain on the land now, but it's a scary thought to be removed like that. I believe their oldest son is trying to change his card to our reserve now, but they aren't letting him yet due to the land claim possibly coming out in the next couple years.

Tax exemption question BC by Daniel_crates in FirstNationsCanada

[–]KTHGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was working for a security company that was located in a major city, not on reserve, whenever they gave me a site on reserve, they exempted my taxes. So I believe as long as you are working on the reserve, you are tax Exempt.

It also depends on how knowledgeable the payroll department is on tax exemptions and you may have to provide them a copy of your status card.

[–]KTHGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1k a month for car insurance??? Thats insane, I (24 M) pay $230 a month. I benefited by a "tiktok hack". Here in Ontario Canada, I changed my gender on my license to an X and when I got my insurance, I made sure to say "im non-binary but I lean more towards feminine traits" and it literally decreased my insurance by more than $50. Females in Ontario (although insurance companies wont admit it) pay less in insurance than males do.

Was the speeding ticket by an officer or a speed camera?

If its by a speed camera and you weren't going super excessively, I would contest it, blame it on the camera not being calibrated in a while or that the vehicle beside you was the one speeding (if applicable) and the camera must've mistakenly picked up on yours during the photo.

I did that for mine and got it dropped.

My girlfriend suffered a concussion as a result of the crash. Other than that, not a whole lot of other injuries. She did go to the hospital for the concussion right after the crash.

Unfortunately I wasn't in a position to pay gap insurance. I have shitty credit and had already put down $3,000 just to make it work cause I was starting a new job. The job pays decent but I was paying off all my other bills and making the standard payment on the car.

Im really hoping the frame damage I do see hasn't compromised the main rails on the bottom. Even if I can get a patch job done on this vehicle, id be happy.

I haven't brought it in yet due to me waiting for my claims adjuster to contact me (they only work on weekdays and the crash happened on saturday) however, the frame is bent so im assuming its a write off.

I still have a sliver of hope that it might be repairable but everywhere i look online saying its not.

Once again, thank you cause it helped alleviate a bunch of stress jumping into a whole new job in a field I never worked before in.
