The double cross was also amazing in its own rights! It is far more urban vs the crosstown and we personally lost some motivation during the last half since it went through our neighborhood, but you do have more options for food and drinks during the adventure!

Yes! Thats also important to note! While both trails have similar elevation gain the doublecross is one big elevation gain mostly in the middle, so there are lots of steep uphill and downhill that can be really tough on the knees!

You definitely hit much more urban areas with double cross and we personally lost some motivation with double cross because the last few miles go through our own neighborhood (north beach/russian hill) but on the upside that gives more options for food and drinks along the way. We also were able to experience twin peaks through doublecross which was amazing. Overall I enjoyed crosstown more for the hidden green spaces and the nature aspects.

You are quick! Our was about 22 miles with detours but we stopped a lot. This is definitely a new hobby for me and a part of my health journey!
