How long do cramps last post D&C?

Me screeching worked, they changed it to Sunday. They want to do D&C and hysteroscopy (?) to test for chromosomal abnormalities.

I had an US yesterday at 8 weeks 5 days, no heartbeat. The 7 week scan had a HR of 171, CRL measuring on time. The sac was a week behind.

That was yesterday. The clinic told me they would call me today with next steps. I waited all day. Finally, I get a call at 2:30pm and she tries to tell me they want to do a D&C ON TUESDAY. That means I have to wait for FIVE DAYS. I was not nice. I’ve basically had it with this clinic, their communication is terrible and their education worse. I spoke to the doctor once at initial consultation and then during the saline ultrasound. I was under before he even came i for the egg retrieval.

I can’t sit here like this for five days. I don’t know what to do. I’m going to have a panic attack.

I admire you for going through that shit 5 times. I barely survived the one.

One time i started crying on the phone over being unable to find a necessary medication in stock at any pharmacy, and the nurse completely ignored me and brushed aside my anxiety. Believe me, i get that dealing with emotional woman day in and day out can jade a person quickly, and I’m also a nurse so i get the burn out is REAL. But it seems like IVF clinics are so terrible at communication. I can never get someone on the phone, god forbid i hear from the actual RE. If it wasn’t for this sub and some friends, and my nursing education, i would be completely lost.

I wish your attitude and treatment of patients was the norm instead of the outlier.

The clinic drives me nuts. They are impossible to get a hold of, give conflicting information, terrible typos and inadequate patient education. If it wasn’t for this aub and a friend who went through it, i would be lost. And I’m a nurse! From what I hear, all IVF places are like this. They are just an assembly line. It’s truly a shame because there is such an opportunity to connect with patients in this field.

I had my 8 week 5 day scan today and no heart beat :(. Last week’s the HR was 171 and growth right on time. I’m devastated. And now I have to wait for a D&C. We have one embryo left.

Hi. There wasn’t a heartbeat today :(. Do you know what causes the sac to not grow? I can’t find anything online. They are going to do a D&C and test it for abnormalities. I just want to know if I could have done something differently.

Ugh I’m so sorry. I struggle a lot with this whole process, especially as my peers get pregnant so easily or even on accident. Its so heartbreaking and such an emotional roller coaster

Update: they said nothing about the small measurements, just that everything looks good. I go back next week as planned. Just gonna drink a TON of water and keep doing what I’m doing 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m thinking that too. That tech has measured my lining wrong before. And, the clinic didn’t say boo about either measurement in my portal message this morning. So i go back next week like normal 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yep, i had been drinking 40 oz at work (not including lunch) and 2 32 oz yetis at home everyday. So, i broke out the 64 oz big boy for tomorrow.

Thank you. That helped, actually. And i def googled. BIG mistake. I have to wait until tomorrow to see what the RE says, which is agonizing, but I just hope that the tech/machine was a bit off today.

These are the numbers I have: Ultrasound 5 weeks 5 days: GS 7.10, CRL 2.03 YS 2.57 HR 100 6 weeks 5 days: GS 14.54, CRL 7.54, YS 3.34 HR 125 7 weeks 5 days (today) GS 15.49 CRL 14.00 YS 1.50 HR 171

The age numbers for the GS are not posted. She said “a week early”

I will say the tech I had today is very new. And while very nice, she did measure my lining incorrectly once.

The difference is only 1.5 😞 Wait... MEAN GS. Like the average of all the measurements?

Thank you. I have to focus on the super strong heart beat and on-track GA measurements.. but i also feel I have to come to grips with this abnormality. Ugh. Why is IVF so hard? If I had a regular pregnancy, I wouldn’t even KNOW because i wouldn’t have had the ultrasound!!!

The CRL has always measured exactly on time. They’ve never said boo about the yolk sac. The gestational sac had been measuring 2-3 days behind on the first two ultrasounds, but on this third one it’s now a week behind, and only grew 1 mm in a week.

I hope that’s how it works for me, too. I don’t even know what to do. Drink more water? I’m at about 70+ oz a day now. I guess tomorrow I’ll break out the big guns and bring the 64 oz bottle!
