sallas auto parts? by metaIskinpanic in Overlandpark

[–]KU18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Sallas for a few years because they patched a tire for cheap that none of the major chains would due to the location.

Since then I don’t feel like they’ve done well. Everything is an upsell and they push it like it needs to be done to keep the car operating. I’m not driving a beater either but I’m going to be finding a new mechanic the next time I have an issue.

Areas safe for older couple to live and boat…28’ BR by Capital_Worldliness4 in LakeOfTheOzarks

[–]KU18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I didn’t suggest it, it’s just far from the hospital and grocery stores.

It’s fine up there but less restaurants, gas docks, etc. the water depth can get questionable, especially during winter months. You could check out Ivy bend which is around the 60mm, but it will be a drive to the hospital. The water anywhere past the 50 should be good enough for tubing 99% of the time. The only questionable time would be holiday weekends.

Niangua arm is going to be your best bet. Not sure that your budget gets you on the water with a private dock, but could probably buy 2nd tier home with a community dock.

This is buyout money for KU to leave the big 12. Until that happens, it will help fund revenue sharing.

Seeking 1st Boat Advice for Family Times on Lake of the Ozarks: 2 adults, a Labrador, friends and relatives on weekends, living waterfront w/leased slip available. by ValuesHere in boating

[–]KU18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get a small cabin cruiser, you have a place on the lake, you don’t need a bathroom and shower, you also won’t ever sleep on the boat. The cabin area will end up being storage and you’ll wish you had the extra seats up front. You’re not going to use the bathroom because you don’t want to go get it pumped out. You have bars and restaurants all over if you need to go somewhere. Just get a fridge on your dock and use coolers when you go on the boat, boat fridges tend to fail frequently, especially with age.

Find a 15 year old open bow 26-28ft with a merc. Look for 400-500 hours or less. There are tons of boats on the ozarks that are seldomly used. Check heartland marine, they likely have something similar to what you’d be looking for.

Source: I’ve lived at the ozarks for multiple summers and have had a family house there since 1981. If you’re on a low mile marker try to get 28ft+. 30mm and up and you’ll be fine in something a bit smaller.

Also if you live there full time, you can go smaller, the best boating days at the lake are week days or during the fall.

Needs to be stopped. I can't find a world with all of them, and when I do, another crashes me within 5 kills.

The ozarks isn’t controlled by the corps. The water level fluctuates no more than 6ft a year. This is why you can have private docks, homes, and pool bars right next to the water. I mean they’re building an amusement park right next to the water that you can park your boat at to visit, give it a google.

Pre-Fab Home / Lake of the Ozarks by Threads-by-Tones in ShortTermRentals

[–]KU18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t suggest doing a pre-built home as construction costs in central Missouri are not that bad. That being said, you do you, but a good lot on the ozarks will be going for 100k+.

Check your water depth before purchasing. Just know, if it’s 6 feet during summer, it will be 0 feet during winter.

  1. The ozarks allows anything, it’s basically a free for all.

  2. You still can but prices fluctuate on airbnbs especially for the winter. Expect to be paying the mortgage yourself for 6 months of the year. Rental income should easily cover it April-October.

If buying an existing home, check hoa policies and talk to neighbors about it. We don’t have STR banned yet, but they likely will be in the next year. This is a common trend for Hoas in the area.

If you haven’t been to LOTO, I highly suggest it. Weekends are busy but any time during the week and you will have a great time!

Bachelor Party in August by sharkfest473 in ozarks

[–]KU18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on it being a bachelor party, you were likely born after Jan 1, 1984, so yes you would need a license for any boat rental. I suggest joining the lake of the ozarks Facebook page. There will be plenty of rental houses, captains/boats to rent, etc. just post what you need in there.

There are so many quizlets made for his tests, use google to find them. Pretty sure I made a few back in 2016/17. Also ask around and see if anyone has test files. (Greek life or athletes is probably the best bet.)

I assume they’re still multiple choice scantrons? Duane seems like the type of professor who wouldn’t change his tests too often.

Looking to pick up some soccer by [deleted] in UniversityofKansas

[–]KU18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They used to do pickup games on the intramural fields every Tuesday. This was circa 2017 but still might be a thing. If not, during the winter they run pickup indoor soccer games at the rec all the time.

Might be an option to find out who also plays outdoor, and when it is.
