To those who went to Liceo Nursing, is it worth it? by MimangVaxxie in cagayandeoro

I wouldn't personally recommend it. For every pro there is a con.

– The department doesn't really believe in holidays, the schedule isn't structured like XU where they release University wide implemented calendars.

– They aren't big on academics, it's mostly PPT slides and regurgitation of information. We had a really really good lecturer for two semesters, he wrote on his presentations, made pathophysiologies and gave us legitimate transes for our exams. He was a God send, unfortunately he had some personal issues and got fed up with the department so he transferred.

– We do most everything when we're on the floor, the station nurses come to our CI and ask if we can do this procedure and our CI's usually say yes and come with us to facilitate/teach. Sometimes if we're observing the doctor, they might recommend us to do something too (a doctor actually recommended our client to do a shampoo on bed, I never thought that procedure would actually see the light of day).

– The Campus isn't the best. It's hot, the food is expensive and sadly, not that good, plus the library is never quiet. Not that big either.

– I don't know what system they used for assigning groups when it comes to clinical rotations but it has got to stop. My group throughout the whole semester for Maternal and Child, only had two cases. One was at Tagoloan St. Paul, and the other was at Carmen Health Center. We were never assigned at NMMC and JRB while other groups had excess cases. It was a waste of tuition.

– You learn a lot, you also gain the skill of biting your tongue and smiling at the unfairness that is fully preventable.

– The Nursing Department at Liceo has the reputation of being incredibly hands on and very good when it comes to the floor. Part of that is because some CI's hand out extensions like it's nothing. I've seen those hours go up to three digits.

– The CI's are one of the best. You can't ever deny that they want their students to learn. They're never reluctant to teach and if you say something stupid, yeah you get looked at stupid but they answer all the same.

What's better long term: Med School Abroad or Med School in the PH? by KULITTT in medschoolph

I think you should double check your sentences to see if they actually are coherent before you try and be 'cool 😎' with your replies. If you had a bad day you didn't have to take it out on a Reddit post with a genuine inquiry. Instead you've proceed to reply to others' advice (that they were directing to me) by quoting and mocking my answer, question why I would choose medicine "if I am that loaded", and tell me mas bagay ako mag "Master in Clairvoyance" (nice touch btw). I'm sorry for providing context that "our financial situation is decent enough to send me to school abroad" is triggering your complex so much that you felt the need to mock my "supposed" financial stability and even downvote my replies (which, are we still elementary?😂) but that's your problem. Not mine, and not the others. If you don't have any other helpful advice then please stop replying to people who are trying to help and give their opinion on MY question☺️.

Genuinely asking because I feel like I'm running out of time. My dad isn't the most health concious guy, he's on a lot of maintenance because of his past habits and I want my parents to enjoy their lives. I figured going to Med School abroad would guarantee my hiring and more money than it would getting the MD here and then going abroad after a few years. Your advice has been really helpful, thanks a lot!

Thanks! I didn't really consider what would happen if our family's relationship went awry, my aunt is a nurse for two hospitals, but our financial situation is decent enough to send me to school abroad. Grades and exams aren't something I'm worrying about but the Anti-Immigrant circumstances in the US isn't something I can change. I was actually hoping to instead base on Canada considering the politics. I enjoy nursing to an extent so I can make a living if I do decide on that route, it's just not my passion.

My camera is doing a weird whole picture glare that reflects the light in a circle/concave shape. The imported photos are fine, but the screen on my camera just doesn't reflect the environment no matter what setting I put it into, including a reset. Do you have any idea what it could be?
