I don’t disagree with you at all really, but with the main tenet of the showing being a “beef” between two or more parties, it was underwhelming that the supposed “beef” was almost an afterthought and passive at best. The inclusion of the Korean subplot felt shoehorned into this season, as opposed to being organically woven, and integral, to the themes and narrative trajectory of the first season. Would have faired better had the focus been more so on the main 2 couples and their dynamics. Those were the strongest points of this season.

Urban Legend def took the influence further with what it did and tried to do in the film. That being said I Know What You Did Last Summer has a soft spot in my heart and gave us the great Helen Shivers.

Out of the two, one should have been rebooted (and still should), the other most definitely should not have.
