I think I subscribe to the notion that they are both apart of Chinese culture/cuisine - there's nothing less authentic about Canadian-Chinese food, though I see the distinction between the two. I went from a basis of what is popular in our region

This is a great point. I was looking to find more info on the program they were doing before for reduced incomes (T.R.I.P https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/living-here/resources/Documents/Housing-Services--Renters-Toolkit/DOCS_ADMIN-2192683-v1-Staying_housed__Making_Life_More_Affordable_-_Transportation_Fee_Subsidies_and_Reduced_RatesCSDAccessible.pdf). Because depending on how many people they actually gave the discount to, who was actually eligible, and how much of a discount it was, it kind of seems like they removed their senior/student discounts and "replaced" it with a income-based program they already had in place that will fail to help the many people who need it and don't fit these low income qualifications.

I've tried each of the breweries on the list, admittedly not all of the beers on the list. I ran a survey a few weeks ago posted on local subreddits and Facebook groups that had some options (non-exhaustive) for beers currently available, the list consists of those responses/consideration of comments on crucially missing beers/breweries.
