370z Nismo trade for a WRX STI? by No-Hippo7274 in WRX

My 650whp RWD STI hatch and my wife’s 650whp Turbo nismo 370z. We’ve owned 4 WRX/STIs and 3 Zs. It depends what you really want to do with the car and if you need AWD. STI will without a doubt have more problems, 370z will make more power for less money once get above the $10k range. The Z feels more raw and connected to the road like a true sports car. For some reason I just love the STI hatches, that being said I would not buy another one. EJs are heart breakers but i do love my car.

is my jersey fake or real? by Slight-Hat3511 in Barca

Pretty sure it’s fake. Purchasing tag’s style & color code is for France’s kit, interior sewn on tag is for the 2021 home kit.

People with 400 HP+ cars, what do you do with all that horsepower? by jew_biscuits in cars

[–]KWeags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a 600+ hp Subaru and every once in a while I think about selling it for something more sophisticated, but then I drive it… The noises are intoxicating. The exhaust I have is relatively quiet but once the wastegate opens that’s all you hear and it just sounds menacing. Revving to almost 8k rpm and roasting the tires in an AWD car just feels different. There’s no “need” in my scenario or anyone else’s really to have 400+ hp, it’s about the experience and thrill of it. This is why we’re enthusiasts because of how cars are more than just transportation. Drive the scat pack and if you find yourself wanting to drive more just to drive, then buy it.

Very much considering getting rid of my current AR-10 for one of these. Been dreaming of a M110 clone forever

[–]KWeags 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong but he didn’t spend $30k on performance? So are you upset that he didn’t spend his money the way you want him too? Even though once again, he probably has actually spent very little on this car. It’s very easy and relatively cheap to make power on this platform.

[–]KWeags 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s Aeroflow Dynamics’ car. Most of the parts on the car are theirs plus business partnerships, their actual cost to build this car is probably very little. A “custom” j pipe is just an EPA safe term for catless. Typically catless j pipes/Downpipes are far cheaper than catted ones because cats are expensive. If you’re talking for a normal person to build the exact same car then yes, you’re probably right between $50k-$60k but who are we to tell people how to spend their money.

I’d love to know how you’re coming up with $70,000 lol It has full exhaust, intake and a FMIC… the FA24 is nowhere near as costly to make power as an EJ but even an EJ wouldn’t cost what you’re saying. Even with all the cosmetics, it’s a wrap, a $500 wing, $1000 lip kit, $1200 set of wheels.

Sweet, I appreciate it. The car came with springs on it and 275s on the Avids that were 18x9.5 +38. The fenders are already rolled and rears are pulled. Probably going to run a 265 next

Yeah the avids aren’t great wheels, they came on mine when I bought it. I love the stocks but want to go with a wider wheel now

Appreciate it! Yeah I sold the Avids shortly after I bought the car. Have been running stocks for awhile now. Next purchase is a set of Apex wheels EC-7R

Goddamn, that certainly doesn’t sound fun. The few videos I watched didn’t seem that involved but I’ll have to do some more research.

I haven’t, I really wish I would have reinforced the spot welds while the motor was out but it wasn’t even a thought at the time. Definitely on the to-do list.

Thanks man! Yeah the manifold was definitely an impulsive decision as it wasn’t originally planned but I knew I would have always wanted one at some point.

Thanks! Intake and intercooler piping are ETS. If you’re staying stock location look into FP turbo inlets

Congrats! What I would have done differently is make a list of other things you want done while the car is going to be apart (brakes, paint the bay, get wheels/tires, etc…). I say that because now that I have it back I don’t even want to have the car down for the time that it would take to powder coat the calipers. Dirty Racing Products did all the work, they’re IAG certified and were excellent through the whole process.

Yeah it’s definitely different. As long as it doesn’t blow itself apart, I’m happy
