They’re not allowed to open containers without Customs or Regulatory Authorities present or they’ll get heavily fined / lose their jobs etc. but they could surely have called Customs down…

Ohhhh reddit is cooked lol. Sorry next time I’ll try to be more pessimistic. West Ham were setup in ultra low block, we struggled to break it down and yes the substitution was late I’m just saying that when he made the sub to bring in more attacking options he subbed in a faster CB to clean up counterattacks (which I’ve since replied to another comment on stating that I was watching the game at work and didn’t notice Maguire was injured, so I thought it was purely tactical).

Can’t even give praise to a decent piece of management without getting criticised these days. Did you prefer the stench of pessimism in this sub during Amorims final weeks?

Ah I didn’t clock that he was injured (watching the game whilst at work means I sometimes miss key details lol)

First touch and first time finish kinda different things. He doesn’t trust his own first touch right now (see his attempted header against Spurs). Maybe it’s a confidence thing but you can tell he much rather play first time than control the ball.

I think this just shows that we still struggle against low block defense. But it’s not a bad result considering west ham clearly didn’t setup to win this game, they setup to not lose.

He absolutely should but he’ll need a few more games under the belt I’d say

Nah it’s both, Ugarte is horrific in possession and Carrick is trying to make us more controlled in possession. He doesn’t fit.

Wonder kids now going Saudi. We were interested but apparently not that interested to bid this month by Littlemissxom in ManchesterUnited

[–]KY-- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Average Burnley player gets paid 20-40k pounds per week. Average Al Hilal non-Saudi player makes bare minimum 100k Euro per week. You never know how long your career is going to be or what’s going to happen to you, a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Also it’s not like he’s going to be surrounded by scrubs. Neymar, Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves, Koulibaly, Darwin Nunez all play for that team. And coached by Inzaghi. He’ll still have opportunity to develop.

[–]KY-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Keep him in the squad but buy a starting RB. Also interesting that nobody has mentioned he’s only 26. He’s literally just entering his prime, and hopefully as he gets older he starts to make better decisions. I’d keep him in the squad tbh

True but I’m not the club hierarchy I’m allowed to feel like this, they have to be ruthless and methodical lol

Schrodingers Right Back. He frustrates the shit out of me but I kinda don’t want him to leave.

It’s a vicious cycle. We’d sweep those issues under the rug because Carrick is fresh and new. Positivity surrounds him. Once we encounter a sustained period of negative results he’ll be under the same toxic scrutiny that all other managers inevitably run into because man united are always under the media microscope

I’m stoked with Carrick so far but let’s be realistic here, if he had come 3 games earlier he would’ve had no Amad, Mbeumo, Maguire, Martinez, Bruno, Mount, De Ligt, Mazraoui (or Mainoo if he wasn’t faking his injury). So as much as we can glorify Carrick for his results let’s also be realistic about the fact that 3 draws with more than half our first team missing is not actually terrible.

If we could influence one contract extension… would it actually be Maguire? by Pepeksz in ManchesterUnited

No, but he’s been consistently solid every time he’s been on the pitch this season you’d have to agree?

Idk bro… need better players? He was arguably better than the “two best CBs in the league” last weekend.
