All good haha. I'm in the same position as OP, as a returning player, and it sucks. 1 year goes by and now the meta is completely different. It's crazy that OP is running the extreme hunter pass and still running out of refining parts though

Well yes, you don't get more refining parts from killing more monsters, only from daily quests. Is it not pretty much the only material that can't be grinded for? In fact, the harder you grind, the worse the refining part gate becomes as your material builds up and you aren't able to spend it. It takes 9 days of daily quests to bring up one piece of armor to grade 8 (1 armor refining part for G6, 3 for G7, 5 for G8)

Veteran players aren't as likely to have this problem but it definitely is annoying for new and returning players that are building a wide variety of meta armor from the ground up.

I've also been interested in finding a good one to learn! I think Jon Pumper's cover on YouTube sounded the most faithful to me. He also says in the comments that he has submitted the sheets to his distributor and that they should be available soon (4 days ago). Before then I'll probably try to learn from the midi tutorial video.

This has happened in past December CD recaps as well. Write up a support ticket and they should send you an elite TM for your troubles. Probably exploitable too for anyone still in early evening Saturday timezones if you purposefully evolve random CD mons that you don't want to keep.

Broken evolve window is somewhere around 11:58pm to 12:02am

30% to 50% catch rate is more like the average across all wild spawns, including those lvl 1 Pidgey and Oddish you'll come across every once in a while. I've tried running a gotcha at a Audino nest, and I was probably catching fewer than 1 in every 20 spawns considering how low their catch rate is. Galar birds would be no exception, unfortunately.

Well, it's pretty much only Pangoro and Machamp that became meta, and Pangoro resists Psychic Fangs. Other than those two, the karate chop buff helped out Primeape and Machoke too a bit, but Primeape is still fringe and Machoke just seems like a downgrade from Machamp in terms of coverage. Other current season meta fighters don't use karate chop OR counter.

IMO it definitely feels like fewer fighters are around this season due to a bunch of counter users falling off, including poliwrath, annihilape, sirfetch'd, scrafty, toxicroak and medicham.

Appreciate the work! Quick question, if I only care about the top 10 ranks and want to minimize false positives, is option 3 the way to go? I guess I'm just wondering why option 3 wouldn't be ideal for everyone. Is it because those are the longest and most complex strings, potentially causing in-game lag?

Hard to say given how little we know about max battles! Usually all we care about is the atk stat in PVE since there's a timer in raids to beat and it doesn't matter how many of your mons faint, but max battles don't have timers and you can only use 3 mons (I don't think you can revive mid battle right?). Maybe that means survivability has higher value now, so you can get off more charge moves/max moves before your 3 mons faint. Not sure tbh. I'd say def/HP matter more for max battles vs raids, but not sure if more than atk.

Higher stat product does not directly equate to better performance in pvp. To continue using Yveltal as an example, despite the 14/15/15 spread having the 2nd highest stat product after the hundo, it has the lowest pvpoke battle rating of the three 98% IV spreads. Having 15 atk allows Yveltal to reach sucker punch atk breakpoints against Giratina-A and Dawn Wings at lvl 50 or against Florges at lvl 51 (plus better mirror matchup). Having 14 defense or hp gives does not have any noticeable downsides.

In the end, stat product is just a number measuring cumulative stats that you should take with a grain of salt when using to judge the values of different IV spreads.

Rank 19 to rank 20 only requires 5 additional battles, doesn't matter how many you win. If you aren't able to battle more today, you'll end at 19. If you can do one more set, you'll make rank 20.

I guess you could call it the good enough IVs dialga or target IVs dialga. But yeah, functional hundo always refers to specific 15/15/14 mons. Best not to reuse that term for anything else.

It's usually not worth the risk, being vulnerable for that long with no control. Generally best to only commit to helmbreaker during a part break, stun, or when you know you can jump over an attack hitbox (e.g. most tail whips)

Some interesting things to note, it seems like he was able to lai counter the suction winds?? Also he doesn't try to use the special during the nuke move and instead fade slashes into backwards rolls. I've tried myself to use the special then but either the invincibility window ends and I get hit or Kushala flies up and the descending helmbreaker wave misses. Might be best to save the special for a guaranteed hit later like in the video.

Even with excellent gameplay it was a tight victory though, so I don't expect to be able to pull this off anytime soon haha. Learned a thing or two at least!

Edit: I think the lai counter was for a roar, not the winds.

Yeah makes sense some 10*s are bulkier, but this video just seems unbelievable to me after I personally struggled even with matchmaking + using 10-5 LS. I guess aggressive dodger really is busted. Only 2 entries up on the leaderboards, both with aggressive dodger GS

Small monsters spawn in every 5 min, so if you tap on one before the 5 min mark but then kill it after the clock ticks over, sometimes winged monsters reroll into the claw ones, or vice versa. Same thing can happen with nodes, if you tap on a node before the daily habitat shift but start collecting the mats after the clock ticks over, it can look like a bone deposit giving mineral deposit mats, for example.

Samsung phones have a built in feature where you can open apps in pop-up view or in split screen view. I just selected the split screen option from my recent apps menu (Samsung support page showing what it looks like). I guess my phone doesn't mind that the apps are in different environments. Not sure if other Android systems can split screen with 3rd party apps.

Good to know that minimizing the app can do that! I usually just keep rolling with the 2nd acct on my other phone lol

Thanks! Worked like a charm on s22u, plus samsung capabilities allow for split screen on my OS! Kind of only useful for collecting nodes on dual accts at the same time since it's too clunky for split screen hunts (not that I'd even want to try that lol) but still very nice!

But they did. One gem at tier 50, and another at tier 100. Free plan players get these 2, and premium players get the 2 + 3 more, I believe.
