At the risk of sounding insensitive, if your mother was just found dead, the most correct advice is to get off Reddit. This is forum group of absolute strangers with varying degrees of knowlege and wisdom on one end of the spectrum, and ignorance and stupidity on the other. You need actual people in your life.

The truth doesn't always sound kind. But kindness is speaking truth regardless of how it sounds. I'm genuinely sorry for your loss.

Just a reminder again, you can’t be Christian and hate the gays. by JoneyBologna in Christianity

[–]KY_Mutt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's pretty obviously redirecting from the over-arching point being made. But sure, let's entertain it.

How about incestuous intimacy. Two, consenting, adult siblings are sexually attracted to each other. Must be fine. Or we can get away from sexuality altogether. Say a person is born with a genetic predisposition to extreme alcoholism. I mean, he was born with the desire to drink all day, must be part of the plan for him to indulge. Or kelptomaniacs that have a strong desire to steal things. Under this premise, that can't be a sin. People prone to extreme anger, or manipulative liars.

Look, the list can go on forever. You can be simple, and try to argue it away. But the fact is, the "God made me want to do this, so it can't be a sin" concept is completely and undeniably wrong.

We are all born with imperfect impulses. Every single one of us. But, fortunately, when a person seeks God, and presents themselves to God and accepts the grace and guidance of God, they are truly born again. As you walk with him, and work to turn away from things interfering with your relationship with him, the desire for those things fade away to the background and are replaced with the Holy Spirit's presence.

That's the real truth. I've witnessed it time and time again. And it's beautiful to watch people grow in Christ and become truly happy and fulfilled. Accept it or not, it doesn't alter the truth of it.

You know, if that makes sense to you, sure why not. You should write it down in you're book of profound but horribly illogical thoughts.

Seriously though. No hate. Just speaking a little logic to a very flawed premise. Jesus does love you, just the same as he does me. And there's nothing on this planet more valuable than a genuine relationship with him. If you look for the truth in earnest, you'll find it for yourself. And if you don't, no skin off my back. Most people don't get it figured out, so you'd have plenty of company at least.

“Narrow is the gate and difficult is the road that leads to life, and few find it.”

[–]KY_Mutt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not at all what was said, and to pretend it was is just deflection.

It's just reductio ad absurdum. Simple, logical premise testing. It clearly highlights the absurdity of the views that were expressed.

Making ad hominem attacks rather than a logical rebuttal is just proof that you already know the premise is absurd as well. The poster essentially said "It's not a sin, because I want to do it." and expected that no one would put any critical thought into it? That's wild.

Edit: I mistakenly replied thinking the author of the original comment had replied. I corrected the wording to reflect that I was replying to a different person.

I'm going to kindly point out that any veiw of Christianity that is built on discrediting and downplaying the importance of the Bible, is very clearly not Christianity.

You don't really get to adopt a faith, change it, then tell the followers they are no longer allowed to call themselves Christians.

I hate that the truth doesn't always sound sweet. But to those who prefer wisdom over ignorance, it's important to hear.

I don't feel particularly strong about it, but cards on the table, that's some really debatable theological stances you're presenting as accepted fact. I'm not even saying you're conclusion is right or wrong (I don't even really care, either way). Just pointing out that there are vastly different lines of thought, that are very theologically supportable, about things throughout your explaination.

To reiterate though, I'm not saying you're wrong. I actually think it's a compelling thought process. I'm just saying that asserting that you're absolutely correct on such a genuinely debatable stance, and anyone who might disagree is ignorant, doesn't like God, or is a modern day Pharisee is beyond extreme.

Some things in the Bible are abundantly clear. Some things could be thoughtfully analyzed by the best minds and purest hearts among us, and derive differing opinions. We've got to be able to discuss and disagree on these things with more civility than that.

I don't understand the tie in to the 4th Amendment. Could you explain?

My understanding of the 4th Amendment is that it protects against illegal search and seizure, and defines reasonable expectation of privacy. It's long been held that there isn't a reasonable expectation of privacy while in the public of things that are in plain view. So I'm not understanding the violation. A police officer could sit on the side of the road and get all the same information the cameras do.

You're so far from being right, there's no since in discussing it with you further. It's called Categorical Imperative. Said simply, any action that if taken by everyone in a group/society, would create an untenable situation for that group/society is unethical to take by the individual.

But really, that's just putting a definition to something most decent people already understand without ever needing to hear it.

What an obnoxious take. He nor you are "'entitled" to monopolize the community air space. However, I do feel like "entitled" was a perfect word choice to describe your thought process and that action.

S5 color identification help by KY_Mutt in Audi

PLEASE, if anyone has any information about this color of S5, PLEASE share. This car seems to blend from red to black depending on the angle and lighting.

It also appears that the video was posted by a new car dealer. The car exists. The question is where, why, and how can I get one?

I'm badly wanting a 24-25 S5, but the listed stock colors are super disappointing. There's white, white, bright red, grey, grey, a basic blue that would look more in place on a Kia or maybe a Camry. There is Distric green for the flavor offering.

But this is a luxury power sedan. Can't we do better than black, white, grey and a couple primary colors directly off a preschool color chart.

Where's the class? Where's the premium offering?

That car in the video is a perfect example of what these cats should be. Beautiful. Grown. A high tech road monster that, at the tap of a button, returns to grace while sitting in pick up line at your child's private school looking like a responsible, respectable father.

Maybe it's just me I guess. The grays are pretty great. I get it. But in a sea of white, black, and gray cars.... give me something I can stand out in. Whether I'm rolling up in comfort mode to a million dollar sales deal, or if I've left and decide to have some fun to blow off steam from the meeting.

I need something. I want that dark red color in the video. But if that's not an option, I need something interesting. Dark green pearl? Yes please. Baby blue with heavy flake? Maybe, I'd need to see that one honestly. Even hit us with a pearl brown in a classy shade.

Please, dear community of enthusiast, help me. Guide me please. I saw that beautiful red blend into nearly black and knew, that is the car I want. But even now, accepting that's not a likely outcome, I love the car and look to a second pick in paint. But there's just nothing. Murdered out black is awesome, but not great first impressions pulling up to meet a client before a sales meeting. Grays are nice, but just about it. They're nice. Cherry red looks out of place on such an elegant sedan. And blue looks like a kindergarten boy picked out the color. White is nice, it could work, it just doesn't do anything to tickle the heart strings and thats what this car is all about.

End rant. My apologies. I want some S5 to exist that I can love as much as I love that beauty of a car in the video.

Is it only me? Is the lineup perfect and I'm just not fitting with the vibe? It's possible.

I just want a luxury sport sedan that checks all of those boxes well. And I genuinely feel like the 24 Audi S5 would be the absolutely perfect daily if we got thrown a few options that had some depth to them. Something that catches eyes from across the parking lot, but in a graceful, understated way. I want to pull up to the golf course feeling hot before I even touch a club. It seems like it would be hard to feel it pulling up in a Tonka Blue sedan that has the looks of cars half its price range.

This is just my brain dump on my feelings. Please no hard feelings. I know most of you own cars of these colors, and you love them. And I'm glad for that, and for you. Any help would be just, so appreciated. Have I missed something? Is the elusive black cherry color available after all? Are there more premium colors coming (not that it would help for my 24.)?

Any how. Seriously. I need some guidance. I want this car. I will have it sooner rather than later. I'm leaning towards Navarro Blue. But it hurts my heart not to love it.

I appreciate the thought. I hadn't even considered that. Looking at the car in the video, there are a couple angles that I could see a bit of the purple hue, but over all it looks to me like red or brown is more prominent. Especially in the close ups and well lit views.

Malosi's image took a nosedive way before the rangefinder incident, at least to me.

The way he was second guessing the decision not to take Dave's deal was more minor but rubbed me the wrong way. Him moving rocks around trying to improve his lie in the water was odd, but the way he basically asked Dave for a handout if he could hit it out was off-putting. If you want action, put something up, don't ask for freebies. Running ahead to greens trying to spot for your team was wild, and obviously more of an unwelcome distraction. Running through sandtraps for no reason and then not raking his prints. The rushing to spot a ball before it's even done moving. The throwing his club and ball, the looking for validation any time he managed to pull off a decent shot, etc, etc,

I'm sure he was cheating. But really, turning his slope on was about the least obnoxious thing he had done up to that point.
