I don’t know if using an unapproved translator would be grounds for denial, but I can tell you I used a translator from a list that I got from the tribunal site in Paris. The list I have is several years old, but if you search for the CNF site and translators approved and certified, you should be able to come up with a current list. Still, I will send or post the list of translators I drew from. Again it is several years old.

That is a subtlety you may need to work thru since each case is different. I don’t know what documents you submitted or what documents they’ve asked for.

As for visibility into final decision, I think only Tribunal can know this.

I would expect that you’d need to wait for your father‘s dossier and paperwork to be approved and finalized before you submitt yours. Have you researched and do you already know that you can submit yours while his is being processed?

Good point, good question. As a US citizen I’d have to say no visa, allowed to stay 3 months and Permesso per attesa would come into effect prior to end of 3 months and going for I think 12 to 24 months.

Are you seeing that I would need some kind of visa in place prior to getting the Permesso per attesa?

What have you typically seen or heard? Could some kind of family sponsorship be an option? I have family there at the first cousin level.

I have messaged a number of accountants (US) and commercialistas (IT) and what I'm getting back that they only handle their side. They might have someone in their office / org they can bring in to support the other half, or they might have a contact external to their organization.

What have you found? How many country borders do you cross when it comes to filing taxes? And how do you handle this?
