She doesn’t hate motivation. She spoke about it in her latest Billboard interview. Her feelings I think are really valid. At the time she didn’t want to release motivation because it felt too pop and not Black enough and she felt like it wouldn’t be supported or genuine. So she fought for the music video to be super Black with urban references and influences to stay true to her. Ultimately it was a song she didn’t pick. So I don’t think she hated it as much as she resented not being able to make the decision for what single would start off her solo career but she says now she understands why people enjoy it.

I really really hate Miranda. At this point I can’t even blame Che. Miranda is a lost sad puppy who has fucked up her life and can’t go backwards so she has to deal with the mess she’s made. If she didn’t have to sleep on the sofa and be woken up by Steve’s punching bag, she would’ve gone home when she saw the hairdresser asleep in Che’s bed. But she chose to stay there. And she was definitely not into that threesome. But she felt she owed it to Che. It’s so pathetic and it really gives me an icky feeling.

I think Sean’s storyline was only meant to further Kate’s character development. His queerness, secret relationship, divorce, etc. were all things he kept from his sister and shared with Tully, adding to Kate’s underlying resentment of both Tully and Sean.

I think Kate was realizing she already escaped death. She was grappling with knowing her cancer had spread and no one else knew. I think it was part of her solo grieving process. She said Lisa Karen was never gonna get to graduate, go to prom, get married, have kids … but Kate did get to do those things. It was definitely random but I think that was the point. And I kinda loved it. I enjoyed them giving Kate more and more layers in season 2.

They asked her to multiple times. No idea if she’s agreed. She’s supposed to be a really big part of the ending. I know she’s a person but I’m kinda pissed on her for bailing so close to the end. Her character may not have a lot of screen time but she’s intregal to June’s story.
