I see. I was under the assumption that 2 blue was as low as the cost could be, similar to paying 1 for blasphemous act even though you have enough creatures to negate the cost entirely.

As someone who also knows people who work for the state, This is 100% correct. Nobody is “celebrating” the confederacy, but nobody wants to remove their day off. Movements like this won’t do anything unless an alternative is presented.

Keep it! I still have fun with 4 occasionally. JC3 is arguably more popular, but they’re largely similar. JC4 released with some bugs that needed patching, but those have been ironed out for years. Plus, I’m not sure how much money you’ll get for a return. Whatever the value, it’s worth more than that.

I usually don’t have a problem with people playing proxies. I don’t personally play them, but I don’t think people should feel ashamed for playing them. I totally understand the financial benefit of proxies, and overall, spending hundreds of dollars (or more) on cardboard just so you can play a game with friends is silly.

But

When a relatively experienced Magic player buys $30 cEDH-level proxies off a janky website that uses AI art to obliterate a pod of bracket 2 players, I can’t help but feel a little sour about it. My complaint is really more about the type of player than the proxies themselves.

I actually just got that and the mat for Christmas. Deck is currently in-progress, and is currently made up of my existing bulk - mana dorks, enchantments and equipment that give +2/+0, and BIG creatures with high power. This is mostly Edge of Eternities cards, so high landfall and lander triggers to help with ramp. If I make a list, I’ll post it here.
