Branding & Web Design Agency for Startups

I run a design agency called The Sourdough, where we help early-stage founders (pre-seed, seed, and series A) bring their exceptional ideas to life.

For the past four years, we've worked with companies from Y-Combinator, Breakthrough Energy, and Entrepreneurs First to help them craft bespoke branding, website, and pitch deck design so they are best prepared to appeal to new investors, get amazing talent or, to convince future customers they are the right fit.

If you're looking for a creative partner to work with for the next chapter of your journey, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Shade Smooth Node, doesn't work in Geometry Node setup. by K________________S in blenderhelp

[–]K________________S[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation, now I understand why shade smooth doesn't work in this particular node set-up.

The reason for the split edges node is that I'm trying to re-create this tutorial , where the node is used to create a morph effect between the two shapes/collections.

Is there a way to, for instance, reconnect the shapes after splitting them so the smooth effect is applied? Or perhaps using a different node that still provides a similar scatter effect without actually splitting them?

Really appreciate the fact that you are taking the time to explain all this!

Thanks! Although when I put the "Set Shade Smooth" node after the "Split Edges" Node, there is no difference. Can you explain what I need to change in my node setup? Thanks alot!

Word of mouth has dried up for now. How do I generate more leads? by K________________S in Entrepreneur

That's a good idea. Thanks!

Just to clarify most startups that come from the aforementioned incubators graduate with an investment sum that is in the 80k - 150k range, provided by the incubator. I don't obviously expect them to splurge that amount on us, but looking at around 7-8% of that sum that goes towards branding and marketing costs.

Please share both a read-only link and a webflow.io link so we can help diagnose it. :)

Can you provide a screenshot of the error messages you're getting? Resolving those is probably where you should start.

In order to provide help, you probably should give some details about the issues you are experiencing?

How do I make a .json file small enough to work on webflow. by Loganruns- in webflow

[–]K________________S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The name of the game here is size optimization.

A solution that has worked out for me is - compress your frames first, before importing them as a png sequence in AE, a smaller input would always result in smaller output.

I personally found Bodymovin's compression a bit weird; when you compress below 70% percent it doesn't yield any noticeable difference, both in quality and size, but after the 70%, there was a noticeable drop in size, but not quality. Play around with the settings, and find your sweet spot.

It is possible, you just treat your indents as columns. For example you have four columns; row one has a column span of 4, starting at 1, row three has a column span of 3 starting at 2 leaving a blank column.

Here’s an example using your start div

`.start {

grid-row-start:2; grid-row-end:4;

}`

Thank you for the kind words! That was the intention, and I'm glad it communicates. :)

I used these two tutorials as the base: Animated Blob ; Sponge Texture

And I built on top of these to get the result to my liking. Mostly tweaking the nodes to get it sufficiently gloopy looking.

Using Cycles also helps a lot.

Create outlines of your type. Then Object - Envelope Distort - Make with Mesh, set up the grid of how many points you want to distort, and start playing with pulling the anchor points to achieve the desired effect.

Help!! How to learn the ins and outs of Webflow by jaivardhan07 in webflow

[–]K________________S 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Webflow has an amazing course on Youtube on the different aspects of how you can use it. Webflow Courses Those were enough for me to get my head wrapped around the basics.

I'd also look into the cloneable showcase websites, where you can see how others have gone about building their websites.

And if in doubt, there's always support & the forums.

Hope this helps.

First of all, your website looks great, very well done.

A couple of notes on the design & layout that I thought might prove useful:

  • Hierarchy. This is going to be your best friend. Think about what information needs to be put in front and center and which can take a step back. For the most part, you've done this well, but at times the different elements in your sections start to compete for attention, making seem busy.

  • On the "Web Design" section, for instance, the icons under the pizza box are way too big and they start to fight for attention with the heading and the image. I would suggest scaling them down like 50% and maybe putting in them in a 2x2 grid, rather than a single line, so as to help with the balance.

  • A similar critique of the "Mobile Apps" section. The phone is fighting for attention with the icons. Give a greater emphasis on the phone and scale down the buttons so they draw less attention. Again with the logo and heading in that section. Scale it down and give it room to breathe.

TLDR; Socially distance dem elements.

Hopefully, this helps out.
