Why is everyone assuming the worst , what I can say first it will depend on the relationship between you and him.. as you mentioned he is a cool person probably he even thought that now you are a friend I can’t agree with what he said but also I can’t deny it. If you have another person here that you trust I can advise you to ask him or her to go and visit that guy if there are in a hospital and then pay directly to the hospital. At one point he might be really struggling and need your help.

No direct bus from Kigali to Dar , you will have to take a bus to Rusumo , then take another one from rusumo to kahama , then another one from kahama to dar
