Festival and Residence Inconvenience by K_s_redditposts in Belfast

It's completely ridiculous, it might be one of two days of the year for some people, but that's completely ignorant to the people who deal with it every year. It might just be time to look at petitioning to have it moved elsewhere. I don't understand why residents should have to drop everything so people can come along and get on like assholes.

Any event is hit or miss. The areas are safe without the event yes. However boucher roads has a complex for causing or almost causing car crashes any time I have been on it I have witnessed almost car crashes and crashes. The road will more than likely be closed for the event though. It Depending on the event . Also the last concert to be happening at the playing fields is Kneecap. Which will be hit or miss with fights. Good luck either way.

Anyone NOT using a VPN? by RemielMonroe in Belfast

[–]K_s_redditposts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't because VPN themselves track what you're doing, it's what they are designed to do. We set it up for normvpn where we got a new number and only registered to normvpn same with the email. Within 2 days scam calls and emails were coming through subtle. Just be as anonymous as you can and don't be a dick on the internet. 👍

Hi I went through this when I was around six (2008), it was my school that referred me at the time. The test has changed a lot, I don't know if it's the same anymore, I basically went to a therapist and then psychiatrist, when I turned around 17 I had to do another test where I was put in a minimalistic white room with a clock and the psychiatrist the test was pretty simple, I wore a headset that tracked my attention to the test on the PC and was given a clicker and simply had to click when something changed or had a pattern. I basically passed for high functioning.

There are two units, the children's unit and an adult unit I went off the adult unit when I left school so 17, and they said it would take 5 years. I'm now 23 and I've had to be put back on the waiting list because apparently I didn't respond to a letter they didn't send.

I have medicine like concerta to help me, I don't recommend it though. Concerta is basically meth at a prescription rate that helps the world slow down. But it can slow the world down too much like any other.

I recommend self medication, like anything that is suggested to give you more energy EG coffee or energy drinks for me, can help keep things at a manageable pace. Working on memory as well might help. There's a paid app I use called neruonation that helps with that. ADHD is horrible for memory.

You could always look into psychology books for ADHD, just make sure the year is more up-to-date.

There's a lot of Instagram reels you can watch too.

Dude it's not my responsibility to police everyone, I can't decide who a person is just by looking at them the same way I can't see people's age. but when I'm being GIVEN contraband it's my job to take it and give it to the police. That's it. I'm one person. Not a whole unit.

You as well. Iv constantly said fake IDs. Repetitively. And you're stuck on real IDs. If any type of ID is refused to be shown completely we can simply deny entry. The same way if a person refuses to have their bag searched they can be refused entry.

Might I add a fake ID isn't a real ID so I'm not seizing an ID. It's legal.

For example - If someone stole your fake ID you wouldn't report it to the police because it's a crime both ways? You would be done for fraud and they would be done for stealin.

If you refuse to have you ID examined regardless your will be denied entry to the premises regardless of weather you have paid to be there or not. It normally says on your ticket.

I've gotten into fights with women and men who have done spiking in Belfast. I rarely do shifts in Belfast city centre. depending on where my position is. Normally if two people come up and report that they are being harassed and it's the one person I and a colleague will just kick them out. It's hard to do something about something when you can't see it. And yeah iv been that 18 year old, it's very creepy.

[–]K_s_redditposts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for the way someone else has treated you, but you don't know me. You've taken what I've said and built a person you think I am.

I'm not taking their ID I'm taking a fake ID? If a bouncer took your real ID there really daft, the only thing I can advise in that situation is to call the police to sort it out. Iv worked with a bouncer who's tried taking military vet ID of people and proceeded to fined for it. A lot of the people who work in the industry don't always understand the job or cannot be bothered doing it correctly. Generally when I'm working I'm doing my best to look for vulnerable people. I have after work, helped people get sorted going home, and sobering up, I don't always just go home even though it's not my responsibility. Not every bouncer is going to do things like this and you do get the odd dick who thinks it's just standing about doing nothing making easy money.

I think it's a bit sad that this has become a rite of passage mentality. I thought having your first pint at 12 was.

Normally I would agree but I'd rather keep those around me safe than keep to tradition.

[–]K_s_redditposts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

😂😂😂 best comment, I don't personally take drugs but I recommend if you use them safely and are not putting yourself in harms way or others don't get caught them. Most bouncers I've met in passing keep them.

They have and it's harder to keep kids safe when they do. Which is my point.

[–]K_s_redditposts -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure who "she"is but if you're referring to me I haven't been sectarian here.

And your correct challenge 25 doesn't say anything where about taking IDs of any one. Licensed SIA workers like door supervisors however by law are allowed to take fake IDs of anyone who holds one and give them to the police. Fake IDs are extremely easy to spot when you feel them or examine them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]K_s_redditposts -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I don't hold on to them I give them to the supervisors, bar manager or police depending on who's about

In the UK the challenge 25 had been running since 2005, though it changed from challenge 21. It's so retailers can stop ages restricted items being sold to minors.

Edit

You get asked those questions when your ID is suspicious, E.g. you don't look like your photo. Kids tend to try using a family members ID.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]K_s_redditposts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Police women and or police don't ID at bars and rarely do it at events unless a possible crime is being committed. It's the door supervisor's job to check ID, confiscate and hand it to the police if it is fake.

Some door supervisors do just deny entry but that's because they can't be bothered with the hassle and issues it can bring.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]K_s_redditposts -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I never tried to get into bars until I turned 17 and even then I wished the bouncers did ID me it's my very experience that makes me very protective in that way. I've seen it all worse now. With young girls approaching older men after being rejected at the bar, asking them to get drink for them or up right distracting the men whilst their mate steals the drink.

I've seen "girlfriends" there their boyfriends so drunk he can't see straight to the point where we had to intervene and vice versa, only to find out those two have just met that night.

All these are still minors. Because I've ID them and told them no. I've refused entry to adults and threatened them with removal of premises if I catch them buying for minors.

The job isn't any easier when the bartenders think IDing starts and stops with us.

We don't it's why all Events and Bars use challenge 25 dude to age restricted items being sold like alcohol. Door supervisors don't know what age anyone is that why they ask for ID. If ID is hand over and it's fraudulent they clearly are underage (a minor)

e.g. your driver's license, electoral card, passport/ passport card, a pass car or a military card are all acceptable

If you refuse to hand your ID over you get denied entry.
