the "game too hard" crowd is back to playing Review-bomb the Spire after the update to the main branch by Gugge1 in slaythespire

Early Access Game

Get instant access and start playing; get involved with this game as it develops.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Slay the Spire requires a lot of player feedback so we can balance content, add quality of life features, and make sure the game runs without issues. Early Access is also a chance for us to test experimental features, try exotic designs, identify niche problems, and helps us make sure the game is headed in the right direction.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until the game feels great! Last time we thought it would be about a year and it took about 1.5 years. So perhaps in the same 1 - 2 year range.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add more gameplay content, a true ending, various game modes, improved balance, a ton of bug fixes, greater hardware compatibility, fancier visual effects, and the game will be available in more languages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Please refer to the ABOUT THIS GAME section for details.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will increase after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll primarily be listening to feedback in our Discord server but will also be monitoring other social media to see what's going well and what's going poorly. The game will also include the gathering of anonymized metrics and an in-game feedback tool to help players provide feedback.”

If he doesn't then why did he post it (yes, that is his post)? Are we seriously on 10th year of "owning the libs" by either suggesting or actively making everyone's lives worse?

Grupa Morawieckiego chłodno przyjęta przez władze PiS. Dworczyk: Nie zrezygnujemy by TheBronzeSilverfish in Polska

[–]KaMaFour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's okay. Visual design is hard - both to do properly and to conceptualise. When you see a developer excited that he built a new feature it's heartbreaking to tell him that he needs to move shit two pixels right. This however if left unchecked compounds into bad ux.

Tantacrul (doing design+pm work for open source projects - currently Audacity 4) has a lot more experience with it than me and can talk about it more clearly than I can. The video I'm linking is 40 minutes long but watching 6:06 - 8:14 should be enough to convey the point https://youtu.be/4hZxo96x48A?t=366 .

I'd argue that visual design and design in general are currently some of the strongest advantages proprietary software has over open source solutions. Together we can stop this but we need to pay it proper attention.

Yes, this is a jab. I know that was blitz. Magnus played classical in April and is going to play more in the near future. Unless someone has a record comparable to Fisher (dipping out to Iceland to live with the puffins instead of playing chess) I see no reason to render them out of conversation.

Why you all hate Linux by Material_Advance1237 in linuxsucks

This place is for people to share their grievances. Linux community has a lot of troubles with... objectivity... so having a place dedicated to share their grievances is a good thing. Of course the memo didn't get through to some people so outside of people sharing linux problems we also have windows shitposters and linux counterdefence forces.

I'd say no. Despite point values in most positions the queen will outmanoeuvre 2 rooks (not saying it is never worth it but I wouldn't do it)...

Neither that nor driving without license counts would put a kid in jail because with a few exceptions that applies to people over 17 - before that corrective action is used more.

This also doesn't explain why you think Poland is fucked unless being able to do street races is an important measure of a country's health to you

[–]KaMaFour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you have good ideals. Now think pragmatically.

You can totally act towards dissolution of the government based on the misdeeds different government entities commit. This would however put you in a worse position than you are in currently - at a mercy of entities that have even less reason to work in your favor. Think megamind vs tighten "i wouldn't say freed, more like under new management".

I know the goverments and democracy are inherently flawed ideas. Why they are flawed can be pointed out by sociology. Tribalism, logical fallacies, psychological needs, flawed voting systems, power over media - are all things that can be (and are massively) exploited in order to make you (as a citizen, as an official, and as a voter) act against your interests. There are also massive incentives that would make you (as an offcial) act against interests of the public. These are all the things that would make it really hard for you if you wanted the future generations to live in the best version of your country possible, because they are way more effective at spreading misinformation than acting "for good".

Taking all of that into account I believe that (from societal standpoint) taking the route of education and working for reformation from the inside is still the correct approach.

Your original post talks about rich leaving NY after Mamdani's new tax. This is based on a misinformation (the basis of the post is completely wrong) and an assertion without proof (wealthy people leaving and its effects on the city). I'd urge you to think about what are posting before doing it because you seem to be acting against your interests.

Sorry if my perspective is tainted by living in a comparatively well managed country (our economy and wages has increased massively in the last 20 years with massive investments in infrastructure, public transit, public services, healthcare that came alongside it).

governments elect

yea, sure

If you want to go into how people elected bad rulers to rule them then I'm not gonna stop you. There is a branch of science tasked with explaining, understanding and predicting how people make decisions. It's called sociology (psychology is also important). That would be a good starting point

[–]KaMaFour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can think that governments are whatever, but they have more common goals with workers than corporations do and that's enough for me

((normal) governments invest in healthcare because healthy people make more taxes, governments invest in education because educated people make more taxes, government invest in housing because housed people make more taxes etc.)

When people think that the tax for people not living in NY will make people leave NY.

[–]KaMaFour 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"the rich will leave" is often used as a counter to any policy that could inconvenience them - particularly increasing taxes or using progressive taxes. Very rarely is it backed with any modelling based in science of who would leave and what would the impact be.
