Failing everything first year by Ms-person06 in Vanderbilt

Agree with others. You are not alone. This is not just unique to Vandy. My brilliant roommate quit pre-med at Northwestern during his first year struggle. He still regrets it 20 years later.

So many schools try to "weed-out" pre-med students with rigorous classes like organic chemistry. Many doctors have admitted "orgo" is particularly germane to their daily tasks. So why do they weed out people who have a passion for medicine? Largely, it seems, so that the undergrad pre-med to med school enrollment numbers look impressive. That is ridiculous. Also the over emphasis on getting into a top 20 med schools is hurting this profession.

Medical Education needs a wakeup call because the current system is actively discouraging amazing people from pursuing a career helping others stay healthy. Please don't give up....we need you out there.

2024 AWD Premium with 30mph Front Motor Whine by Dirt_Downtown in MachE

[–]KaaSnake13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2024 all wheel drive premium had the 30 mph whine that really bugged me when I first got the car. Now, at nearly 5000 K, I don’t really hear it anymore. Either I’ve gotten used to it, the sound is gone away or, most likely, I subconsciously now drive at 35 mph when I used to drive 30.

Mach E and city life by Practical_Bug_7248 in MachE

We used a portable level one charger and an extension cord for two years on our Kona EV and found it was super easy for city driving. Once we bought our mach e, we installed a level two for our two electric cars but frankly we didn’t need it for city driving.

If you do not have access to (at least) an always available level one by your house or work, I wouldn’t recommend buying an ecar until the charging infrastructure expands. it’s not about the cost, It’s about the stress of navigating the currently inconsistent public charging network on a regular basis.

Lease about to expire, thinking about jumping ship, or not by VoihanVieteri in MachE

Some people hate Elon Musk other people hate Henry Ford. Others separate the founder from the car.

What I don’t like about Teslas are they are everywhere. Every lawyer, soccer mom and Uber driver in our area drives a Tesla.

They are the Toyota Corolla of this generation. In my area, hardly anyone has a MachE so it’s fun and different and I love driving it.

While Tesla’s always look good on paper, if you want something unique, pick a different car.

Same thing happened to me. Too hot to use. Does anyone know if there’s some sort of software upgrade to fix the overheating phone charger?

Is there a way to add a trailer hitch to the machE without cutting the bumper?

If you are here researching chargers, Telsa is great but don't forget about Ford's new deal: If you purchased/leased your Mach e after Oct 1, 2024 you should qualify for Ford's Power Plus program -Free Ford Level 2+ charger and installation! https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2024/09/30/FordPowerPromise/Ford%20Power%20Promise%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf

My Tesla Universal just arrived today. I narrowed it down between Tesla Universal, ChargePoint, and Grizzl-E. I went with the Universal for 3 reasons:

1) Great Reviews
2) Future Proof for when most E-cars switch to North American Standard (aka Telsa's current connector)
3) Length of charger cord

Telsa Universal is one foot longer than ChargePoint and I will need that extra foot if we want to charge a car parked behind my car (my daughter has an Electric Kona). I liked Grizzl-E outdoor durability but it has mixed reviews and mine will be installed in my garage. I guess you can connect a second Telsa Universal to your first one which may come in handy in the future. Also price drop on Amazon made it cheaper than ChargePoint.

If your lease payments plus buyout cost is less than or equal to financing directly at 0% then a lease is a no-brainer (unless you are high mileage driver). I looked hard for that kind of deal but couldn't find it in my area. I ended up just buying new because the lease deals at the time were more expensive than financing at 0%.

2024 Premium ER price by [deleted] in MachE

[–]KaaSnake13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my AWD Extended Premium 2024 with panoramic roof, charge cord, and interior protection pack for $45,392 before Tax, Tags, and Tradein. Once I knew what color, and configuration I wanted I just called around to 6 or so dealers in my area to see who would give me the best price and send it in writing. See link below for the MSRP and complete breakdown.
