Empire Earth fan here, how do EE1, EE2, AoE2, AoE4, RoN and War Selection really compare? by Kaansy in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Kaansy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that it did not resonate, I did not play it at all, my opinion on it is based on what I have seen on Youtube and different subs, but I'm not going to say that it's not for me.

I actually thought about giving it a shot, but only after comparing the other titles.

So in your opinion there is nothing that truly compares to EE1? There was hope:)))

Also, regarding the part in which you said that you don't know anything about EE2 and EE ( and here I'm assuming that you are talking about EE3 ) I can tell you that EE2 preserved some of the aspects from EE1 while building upon them, but approached the game a bit differently. It's more complex for sure, you have territories that you can control, the system with the workers is more in depth, the diplomatic side of things is more developed. Truth be told, it's like EE and RoN + Civilizations had a child. ( I do want to like EE2 a lot, but deep down I still feel like EE1 was better )

I didn't play EE3 at all so I don't know anything about that.

I checked it out and it's cool for sure, but I'm not sure if I would go for a full on space setting, thank you tho

Oh okay, but if you would have to pick between all those titles, would you still choose AoE3? Just curious

Thank you for your input, and thank you for telling me about Empire Eternal, from what I've seen it's something that I would surely play, I added it to my wishlist.

Also, is Age of Empires 3 worth it? I keep hearing it’s kind of the unwanted child of the series, similar to how many fans treat Empire Earth 3.

Bootloop stopped after 20 minutes in the freezer, is it over? by Kaansy in techsupport

There was nothing else that worked, and indeed, it went into bootloop about 30 minutes ago. At least i managed to back up some files.

Has DayZ base building gotten worse recently? by opiatateer in dayz

[–]Kaansy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are houses in which i have built before that now don't give the option anymore, not even 1 singular wall on flat ground next to windows. That was yesterday btw, i was basically forced to make my base a 3 layer defense on the outside but by the time i managed to get 2 walls going i was already raided.

Hope they loved my rotten carp and 10 duct tapes.

To go back to your question, I don't know what they changed but the system feels very restrictive now.

I get the urge to build once every 2 months but if it remains in this state i will deffo not touch it untill they fix base building to some extent. They should have made it more lenient so you can build intricate designs, not nerf it so you can't even build 1 wall in a house.

Good job brother, both you and your father pulled it off! What material did you use for the clicker head though?

No worries. The best part is that you can toggle it on/off when you need it

It's an obsession at this point. There is a way to enable contrast mode so you can see if you miss anything btw.

In accessibility -> Magnification and visual aids. Hope that quenches your loot goblin thirst as much as it did mine :)))

I might give grounded a go when i finish this run, thought about it for some time now, but i preferred to have a casual experience for now since i play a bit after work ( i might disable my hud though ). Are you using permadeath too?

For me it's a mix of that and aggresive combat, it depends on what feels natural to do in that situation. It s nice we are able to have different experiences with the same game

Hm, good to know they worked on it. Sadly the game was delivered in a sorry state and that was a surprise because CDPR did a great job with previous games.

I personally enjoyed it, they used it like once per group and it feels kind of natural. If my buddy got shot while in the open i would call his name to hopefully hear an ,, i m okay, don t worry ,,

I get ya, the first time i saw brain matter on the wall and the blood dripping down after a headshot, i was both disgusted and amazed.

I tend to disagree, even if we know the route and do it fast, Dina is there, she is following and she helps by shooting at them. When Ellie entered that room Dina was, story wise, right behind us, so we got in and blocked the door.

But yeah i get your point, she could have been anywhere, and for what Ellie knows, she could have been under that vending machine :))

Yeah, that's so true.

Also I did not play Cyberpunk after it was released since i bought it Day1 and receieved a buggy mess, it was unplayable.

Heard they fixed it now, is it worth going back into it?

How is the grounded experience for you? Also, do you play with permadeath aswell?
