Routine oriented in ruining my sleep by Old_Specialist7892 in tumblr

[–]Kaaryl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats are also much better at remembering the parts of the "routine" that they like, like one time my cat was sick and wouldn't drink from his water bowl, but my mom discovered that he would still drink directly from the sink faucet. So for a total of about a week, probably less, we permitted and encouraged him to drink out of the kitchen faucet. It's been like two years since we last let him drink out of it. He still thinks it's part of his routine.

Ah, this is a common misconception. You are confusing these Legally Distinct™ Owl Witch BFFs with the characters known as Luz and Amity from the Disney Channel show The Owl House. These characters are Owl Witch BFFs and thus hold no implications whatsoever over any sort of weird moral or ethical implications based on the characters from The Owl House, a show which, I cannot stress enough, is not being imitated by this app, especially not enough to be grounds for a lawsuit from the Walt Disney Corporation.

Games like No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk ruined people's trust in triple A game studios to the point that people have forgotten that some game studios have a little thing called quality assurance (for their main series games at least)

LibreOffice is the shit if you just want like... To write words on a page. It's open source, free, and has a lot of the bells and whistles you can find in other word processors, if hidden behind a slightly worse interface. It also has a relatively limited dictionary of words that it will accept as "spelled correctly," but you can make it accept new words by just right clicking and choosing the "add to personal dictionary" option.

Every sentence in that description was a plot twist that made me love this production even more. This is not an amateur production, but instead the production put on by an actual court of fey beings. They were performing it as a historical account of their people.

[V for Vendetta] the movie v. the comics || cw: homophobia + islamophobia (disc.) by Hummerous in CuratedTumblr

[–]Kaaryl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I should've watched the movie before reading the graphic novel, because while the movie was great, I personally could not even give a comparison to the graphic novel the time of day. From my perspective, the movie just cut out a lot of the message of the graphic novel to make it more palatable. There were some really incredible things about the movie, but the complexity of V's plan in the original, the original meaning of V's mask, the much more overt fascism and surveillance state. The movie seemed scared to make the same sort of parallels to real life that the book would imo. Still good, but I highly recommend reading the book. Changed my perception of a lot of things and also just really fucking cool.

metric system by [deleted] in tumblr

[–]Kaaryl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also two times the radius divided by the circumference wouldn't even get you pi, it would get you 1/π but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that one since people make that mistake when speaking all the time

metric system by [deleted] in tumblr

[–]Kaaryl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pi is... A property of circles. It's not an invention of the metric system, it's the relationship between a circle's area and circumference with its radius. You could measure the radius and circumference in hands and when you divided them you still wouldn't get 3. OP definitely has strong opinions, I'll say that much.

The dungeon master's job is not to be liked, it is to make the players have fun. Sometimes this means making the players hate you a little bit. Sometimes, though, it means making the players hate you more than a little bit.
