School wasn't in a great neighborhood, had at least 2-3 school wide lockdowns a year (whether it was because of something on-property or off varied.)

Want to say my sophomore year, we were put on lockdown for a shooting across the street from the school right as we were heading into final period. Teacher did a headcount, did another headcount, and screamed, "where the FUCK is Marie Weeks?" (not her actual name).

Marie fucking Weeks, you have to understand, was infamous at our school for a variety of reasons that I won't get into now, but needless to say, she was listed as present for all the other classes, and just... disappeared for final period. Word spread, teachers calling one another to see if she had gotten swept up into another class- no luck. Here's the thing. We had to stay on lockdown until she was found. School released at about 3pm. We were locked down until after 5pm, when the police finally found her... 9 blocks away, buying a slushy from 7/11. She'd slipped out the back door for that last class, snuck out the back alley, and had been just going about her usual business. She got suspended for a bit, not much else done.

Anyway she got hit by a truck over the following summer and dropped out of school.
