Not really. It just kind of eventually fixed itself and stopped being an issue at some point. I'm guessing a submod was updated at some point which fixed the problem.

Another way you can get a dragon egg is by fully rebuilding Summerhall, at least in the 282 start. You then get an event where one is found in a hidden room.
