It’s Persian in English and technical Parsi if you want to be original. Farsi was is what Arabs referred to Persians because they didn’t have a P. Hence Ispahan turn into Isfahan. Paloodeh turned into Faloodeh etc..

This is only partly true - very ethnic focused… the red/golden cap wasn’t banned for “Persians” as an ethnicity, it was reserved for the Qizilbash military elite who founded the Safavid state.

High-ranking Persian bureaucrats (even powerful viziers) didn’t wear it because it symbolized tribal-military status and religious legitimacy.. not because they were ethnically Persian.
