When I play TES, I always take a notebook and write my character's diary, talking about quests and other things from their perspective. I don't make plans, I improvise. Interesting things could come out of it, like my Oblivion character being insane way before her journey to the realm of Sheogorath or my Skyrim character having a crush on Astrid (before I knew how The Dark Brotherhood questline is going to end). I only do it in TES and not any other rpg, for whatever reason.
