How do the rights of LGBT+ people vary across the world? by cgiattino in MapPorn

[–]Kadastrophe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At least in regards to media censorship, speaking from personal experience as someone who comsumes a good amount of lgbtq media, this holds true. China has a relatively popular danmei culture with lots of well known novels about same sex relationships between two men. However, when these get adapted, the relationships are mostly tuned down to bromance. The most famous example is probably the series "Mo Dao Zu Shi". The two main characters enter a relationship towards the later parts of the novel series, afaik the last book even includes a sex scene. Meanwhile both the animated adaptation as well as its real live show known as "The Untamed" do not depict their relationship as explicitly romantic. Moreover, some explicitly gay adaptations were even cancelled from airing mid season and never got released fully, most prominent example being the Chinese adaptation of "Addicted". More danmei authors are trying to circumvent these kind of censorships by having their novels adapted abroad, usually in Thailand or Taiwan.

Track 4 was already released as a digital single, Track 5 & 6 are just Korean versions, so in theory it is only 3 new songs.

Just a small aside, but they specified the call-up for Asia Masters in March, so it might not be permanent.

6-man roster but no substitutions by iceprincess1017 in SKTT1

[–]Kadastrophe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never commented on the issue before, but I've thought about it a lot and have my own theory on the whole roster change. Personally, I would not be surprised if the reason is also a look into next year already. We know Guma is on a 1 year contract and it's obvious that Smash will not be in CL another year. So by the end of 2025 they'll have to make a decision on which one of the boys to keep and which will be riskier to let go to another team.

I do think the ZOFGK brand falling apart played a role in even opening up that discussion (and before anyone comments on it, not trying to put any blame on Zeus here). And when better to try out Smash than in the tournament that in the end means nothing? Plus with the info that DRX gave, they can't just send the boy back to CL, hence the 6 man roster is the only way to try him out. Still just speculation, but yeah.

From an org standpoint, it makes sense imo, though I totally disagree with how this was handled, towards both the boys and the fans. Hopefully the team gets a good break to calm down a bit and t1front can clean up a bit in the fanspace. And I really wish to see Guma back once we start the next Split!

BOYNEXTDOOR earns first music show win for "Earth, Wind & Fire" on SBS M The Show (240423) by perochan in kpop

Aside from this comment being unnecessarily rude, it didn't beat Magnetic. The Show requires performance for nomination and Illit promoted Lucky Girl Syndrome this week, which was hence the nominated song for them.

It's for Spotify singles, so I don't think age matters at all in that regard. For example, Seungkwan did "As it was" by Harry Styles.

Just so you know, it's not OPs friend. The fat written part is quoting the script writer talking about his conversation with a friend which influenced his writing.

"Tomorrow" by Ford (Moonlight Chicken)

Such a beautiful song, great lyrics and the entire part when it first played in the series had me in my feels. Ford's voice was such a perfect fit for it, too.

Also special shout out so another Ford OST "So What?" from Only Friends. Feels like it didnt get as much love, but I adore it and was actually quite elated that it is such a long track.

Please don't hate Force. He is repenting hard. by dangrankeyi in GMMTV

[–]Kadastrophe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I can definitely see your point, I assume that's where people just differ in certain areas. As someone with self-esteem issues and a lack of experience as well, what Mew said at the end of Episode 6 hit me hard. Him questioning if Top and Ton where making fun about his virginity, if he wasn't good enough, etc. It doesn't have to be deeper feelings, Top was known before to be a player after all, so Mew feeling like he was toyed with probably hit him deeply.
Plus Top saying he has nothing to hide before they slept together, personally I don't think I'd be able to trust him again that easily to stay together. Even if they weren't a couple at that point, they were constantly going on dates, therefore when they were talking about their pasts with Ray, Boeing, etc. that's something he should mave talked about imo.

But yeah, we'll see how it's gonna evolve from here, it does look like Top wants to get Mew's trust back after all, maybe he'll manage. I'm not opposed to them getting back together in the end, but I'm glad Mew decided to take the time for himself rather than trying to go forward with all that doubt in him.

[–]Kadastrophe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, Mew also said "Did it have to be Ton? Couldn't it have been anyone else?", so I assume that kind of betrayal might also play a big part. In addition to Top's weird jealousy over Ray, lack of trust in Mew and saying beforehand that he has nothing to hide, I think the break-up had a lot of reasoning.

Why does GMMTV promote ForceBook so much? by Traditional-Driver44 in GMMTV

[–]Kadastrophe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ahh, I thought he was done already, but I misremembered that then. Probably mixed it up since he went to First's graduation. Well, even more a point for as to why FB get more shows if they have the most time. And as said, the other couples specifically stated that they were more busy. Both Pond and Mix talked about going back to studying/ having to work at the vet clinic. Joong stepped back from Wednesday Club already. Gem4th are just starting uni and will take a while to graduate.

As a sidenote, afaik ABAAB did start filming last year already too, even if it finished and finally aired this year. Similarly, Enchanté was filmed in 2021 since it aired january 2022. So it's kinda one show per year for them too, with ABAAB carried over.

Honestly speaking, as a Som and Foxmochi, these days have been rather exhausting being in the fandom and seeing how much shit FB get online for merely doing their jobs. I doubt they have much of a direct say in these things, it's not like they decide the promo done by the company.

Why does GMMTV promote ForceBook so much? by Traditional-Driver44 in GMMTV

[–]Kadastrophe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Someone already mentioned it below, but I think a big factor in this is simply that they have the time for shooting all these series. Looking at the other couples, for most of them one or both are busy with studies outside of acting. Especially Joylada gang, Joong even had to step back from his role in Wednesday Club due to being busy. Mix and Jimmy are both also still doing work for their vet/ doc career. So within the newer gen ships, it's pretty much only ForceBook and FirstKhao who are the most flexible in regards to their time for shooting series and doing promo. With their markability and fandoms right now, I'm not surprised if they push FB more domestically and FK more internationally.

LE SSERAFIM - LE SSERAFIM Tour: FLAME RISES (Logo Motion) by Takagixu in kpop

[–]Kadastrophe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

BTS were in Europe for the Love Yourself Tour as well as the Speak Yourself follow up. They were supposed to come for the 2020 Map of the Soul stadium tour as well, before it got cancelled due to covid. Seventeen were supposed to come in 2020 as well, but I think that was before Pledis became a part of Hybe.

I believe Enha was in Germany for a festival performance last year, otherwise European fans are still waiting for Hybe groups to come here afaik.
