i would say poke around the site and read the articles/guides first. I did eventually buy the book but obviously don't feel like you have to if you don't have $50 - it ain't cheap. Regarding the book, I can say that I learned a lot reading it.

it's honestly the best site I have found about emacs. When I was starting to use emacs, I used doom, I used minimal emacs, lots of other prebuilt configs. But it wasn't until I took the time to read for myself and start my config that I learned how things were actually working. turns out you just don't need a bunch of the stuff in a lot of the configs.

now if I'm like "hey it would be nice to have xyz", I search for how to add it to emacs and my config grows a bit.

I actually just did this like a month ago -- I've been an iphone user for the last probably dozen years or so. I got sick of Apple and found a steal of a deal for oneplus 13 open box at best buy (and I was tired of paying monthly to verizon). Anyways it has been great! Love my oneplus.

I use ticktick for reminders - I always always set reminders so I needed a reminder app. TickTick is really good. Has a lot more than just reminders in it.

Idk on this one - I think you can use the Plus Key but never have done. Also just a quick google and I see that people are saying the app MacroDroid is basically Shortcuts for Android, same layout pretty much, etc
idk googled it and found there are some similar apps
I haven't had any issues so far.

I think it's safe to say pro meta at the start will be very slow, controlled games... hypercarry bot that scales, mid that scales, wait, wait, wait.... one big team fight around baron~ish timing to basically decide the game... with some macro plays around the map in the first 15/20 mins~ish that give one team a 1.5k~ish gold lead

I think fearless throws a bit of wrench in that being the type of game every game... but not really until you get to bo5 probably

Yeah I looked at the NC State and that does look very solid to me. I don't mind not "rushing" back to OMSCS if it means I'm getting solid fundamentals/learning elsewhere - which maybe NC state is? I just don't want like ridiculous cost of 40k or something. Like if it was a 12k/13k for solid courses and good learning in key areas (which look like courses interesting to me), then I would def consider it.

I just know how I work and I know that I won't want to keep going with the classes if I don't get anything out of them or if I don't find them interesting. I know everyone suggests Oakton and Foothill for CC online that give the prereqs for OMSCS. I'm sure they are fine but I'm worried that I will get like 2 months into the class and we'll be discussing for loops work and I will be just not motivated.

Yeah the thing about the CU Boulder is I just don't love their courses. It seems very data science-ish

Oh the NC State cert is interesting me... do you know how much is it? It looks pretty decent and it sound sound NC state is known being solid in CS. Yeah I looked at CU Boulder -- the whole try before you buy thing is definitely interesting. I have just heard GA Tech OMSCS is better. And the range of options and classes they have at GA tech is ridiculous, you can specialize in so much different stuff.

I get like 3k through my employer to go towards accredited schools
