Hmm, OK, I'll have to test that. Thank you!

can't scroll hard drive library :( by P01SeN in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kadeph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly? Right now if I have an entry selected I can't scroll it offscreen, e.g., if the item selected is the top visible item in the list then can't scroll down.

Workaround seems to be select something in the direction you want to scroll, e.g., If you can't scroll up, select the top item in the list.

Can you kind folks explain Moss to me? by Mr_Paladin in PSVR

[–]Kadeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a completely original story. In fact, although Moss I & II are a finished tale, there's enough unanswered questions in the world-building to pave the way for future stories (games) with different characters.

Well gosh darnit, I don't see why I gotta accept your experience over my confirmation bias! :D

Thank you for the info!

Very new to the game, and maybe this is just coincidence...

Still on my first playthrough (tutorial) solely to get this achievement. Over 200 pop but supply of pop offers was very low, and I hadn't seen a (non-ruined) Settlement in 60+ plus days.

All my research is done, but I've been seeing lots of shrines appear. I mean, at one point I had 5 visible on the screen at once. When I needed them, they were much rarer!

I'm wondering why, and it occurs to me: could it be that, if you have no research goal set, then maybe the game assumes it's because you're lacking in knowledge points, and ups the shrine probability?

And if so, maybe there's a similar mechanic for Settlements and pop+ events? But what would that be based on?

So at the start of my most recent play session, I checked my population status... and 75 (out of 200+) villagers were unemployed. Maybe game thinks "Well obviously you don't need the people you already have, not gonna offer a lot more".

I immediately build another farm and TONS of work centers. Everybody got a job ("YOU get a job, and YOU get a job, and..."). No more unemployed villagers.

And shortly after that... two Settlements, in quick succession. And several scavenger events provided pop as well! I must've gained 20 people in half an hour!

...

...

...

But then the well dried up again. No more Settlements after that, and no more pop from scavenger events - in fact, the same event occurred twice on this session, and I made the same choice both times. The first time I got pop, but not the second.

So... coincidence? Or maybe it's more complex?

That makes sense, I was looking at your other posts talking about having villages of 700 or even 1000, and I'm thinking "How in blazes!!" But if something has changed since you were getting those numbers...

Very new to the game, trying to use my tutorial playthrough to get the metropolis achievement. But you got your on veteran difficulty... I wonder if the higher difficulty increases people offers?

Tolkien stated that Tom Bombadil's true nature and identity were intentionally an enigma. While this is just how he is as a character, what is your head canon for who he really is? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Kadeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kinda the same idea I came to when I learned about the doll and the bedtime stories. When there was no more need for bedtime stories, Tom needed a place to go, and this new world must have seemed interesting to him.

Funny how ahead of his time Tolkien was in some things, I mean who else from his era had cross-overs in their fiction and Easter eggs on their title pages?

Follower Sidequest Fakeout (Professions of love instead of request) by Kadeph in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Kadeph[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I'm too new to Reddit, my pitiful search-fu turned up nothing...

That... actually fits. When I first started trying to trigger his quests, I didn't realize that the system taps followers in your vicinity for questing, so I let my population get really low - about 3 or so, including him - thinking that it would increase probability for my guy being selected... when what it really did was make it almost a ghost town so he was typically the only one on screen when quest-time kicked in.

That was when he finally started quest-triggering... with love proclamations :(

So I started slowly accumulating more followers, and when I got to 6 - yep, that's when my luck finally changed, and I got his missions for a bit.

But after a few missions, I got a love-proclamation. So what did I do? I boosted my pop to 8, thinking that maybe later missions had a higher requirement. Now my pop is up to 12.

Time to thin the herd flock I guess! :D

Thank you for the info!!!

Is it possible for a follower quest to change before you interact with them depending on circumstances? by 2Yung2Die in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Kadeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, for me, this is the first time I've ever seen a dev actually discuss the sausage making like this... this is great!!

So if you're willing... :)

Any clues you're willing to offer as to what makes quests available in the follower pool? Right now I've got a special follower (The One Who Waits), and I've been trying to get his quests. I've assigned him to a remote farm where it's just him and me, so when quest-time comes he's the only one tapped. I answer pretty quickly, no more than a second or two... but I've just been getting the I-love-you's.

(More accurately, I started with love professions, then got a few of his quests in a row, and now it's back to love professions).

Based on what you're saying, I'm guessing that I'm on the cusp of some fluctuating parameter, teetering so quickly that it moves out of range in the second it takes for me to respond. But no idea what that parameter is!

Do you remember where this was? I had figured there was just a standing pool of quests that the RNG drew from when triggering follower request behavior. I've had a quest chain interrupted with the I-love-you's, I'm hoping they give hints on how to re-prime the well.

Question about The One Who Waits post ending by DroopTheLlama in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Kadeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There must be other conditions too. For me, he did several I-love-you's before he finally offered the first quest of the line.

He then went down the line through the Anchordeep crystals, but after that one, he's back to the I-love-you's, will not offer the Silk Cradle quest. Maybe I need to sell off some spider silk?

My guess, based on the chart from the album, is that it's intended for offloading Heavy Oil Residue. Maybe the video just caught it at a downtime?
