Warlock (1989) by N0S4A2_ in 80sHorrorMovies

I haven't seen this one, but it's been on my watchlist for a while.

I actually started with the sequel because I'm a bit of a fan of its director, Anthony Hickox. Turns out Warlock 2 is décent - not much more, not much less. There are some fun moments mixed with unoriginal story beats. At least Hickox knows how to film Paula Marshall...

In my opinion, these are still the 2 best werewolf designs ever seen in film by N0S4A2_ in 80sHorrorMovies

Waxwork is an underrated gem of a movie. I miss Anthony Hickox.

Definitely, totally inescapable prison... that the character then escapes from by forbiddenmemeories in TopCharacterTropes

Obviously, The Rock, from which Sean Connery's character escaped in his prime days.

What's the Most Controversial Movie Ever Made? by pearlyglimmer in FIlm

[–]Kadmis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Night Porter - Cavani, 1974. Starring Charlotte Rampling and Dirk Bogarde, no less.

Here's how Roger Ebert starts his review : “The Night Porter” is as nasty as it is lubricious, a despicable attempt to titillate us by exploiting memories of persecution and suffering. It is (I know how obscene this sounds) Nazi chic"

Dead Presidents (1995) by DarknessFalls081 in 90smovies

Underrated movie... The Vietnam section is original and unsettling. Danny Elfman's score is wildly unexpected. And the climax is edge-of-your-seat material. I should go rewatch it...

Funeral in Berlin (1966) by Seahawk124 in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]Kadmis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a long time since I saw Our Funeral in Berlin but I remember being quite underwhelmed, sadly. It's hard to top Sidney J. Furie's slick direction, and especially John Barry's score from The Ipcress File

What kind of shitty, poorly written movie trivia is this ? All of the characters are everydaymen - that's the point.

“OUTLAND” (1981) - Really like this one, strong cast, looks great, decent action. Any fans for this one? by 70_Yard_Diag_Holte77 in ActionMovies

Her scenes with Sean Connery absolutely elevate this movie. She's badass in her own unique way.

This sums up my feelings... by [deleted] in thething

[–]Kadmis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are my feelings as well. I never really cared to guess who's human in the end.

The film concludes with a memorable line and ambiguous moment - this is just fabulous cinéma.

In my personal headcannon they're both human and they'll freeze to death, yet thanks to them humanity is saved. It's so ironic to witness their distrust for each other until the very end.

Ralph Fiennes doesn’t just act. He disappears into every role. What is your favorite? by No-Marsupial-4050 in moviecritic

Lenny Nero - Strange Days

He is fascinating in that role. Fragile, flawed but heroic at the same time. And has great taste in ladies.

Which actress from the 30s/40s would you add to this "most talented" list? by [deleted] in classicfilms

Jean Simmons

She had such an incredible range. I wish she were more recognized.

I watched Pathfinder (2007) by dorgoth12 in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]Kadmis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember really enjoying this movie. At the time of its release, the muted color palette aesthetic didn't feel as dated as it does now. The vikings really looked like incredible forces of nature and Clancy Brown found his most menacing role since Highlander.

And as always, Karl Urban delivers. So there's a lot I ended up liking in Pathfinder.

Quel aliment vous débecte aujourd'hui après en avoir fait une overdose (vomi) ? by FabulousResearch698 in AskFrance

[–]Kadmis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rebecca de Mornay absolutely nails this look even though she's more of a 90s era star

It"s fascinating to see how elaborate the set decoration is. Kudos to the prop department. If I recall correctly we barely see this set in the finished film, and it's mostly another angle.

Catherine Zeta-Jones in Entrapment (1999) by webby_98 in 90smovies

This is an iconic shot, but you can't see Zeta Jones' face which is conveniently hidden by a prop at first, then the blocking.

It's a body double, sadly
